@scottlapeer @KevinBrockwayG1 used to wear Billy down by his late game stats. It’s just part of the short turnaround and so many other factors. I still wonder what Florida could’ve done if Wilbekin stayed healthy. It definitely takes luck to win so many games in a one and out tourney.

@Jstef15 Butler 2011 is the first one that comes to mind, but there was also Creighton in 2002 and Gonzaga in 1999. Louisville, too. Truth is, as great as Billy was, he had some serious final-possession problems.

Gator fans may not all remember, but even the great Billy Donovan lost numerous NCAA Tourney games on poor last-possession coaching. It happens. And it always hurts.

Fouling is what I would have done. Up 2 with less than 10 seconds in March, your first goal is to not lose on a 3, which you know an upset-minded team is gonna aim for. But just a really, really bad job by Fland and Lee to do that if it was the case.

Just not sure what Florida was doing here, especially if they intended to foul. Fland trailing Stirtz around the screen is how he gets loose. Lee steps forward but doesn't help. That forces Haugh to choose-- and he chooses to help (which is the wrong choice b/c it's an open 3). Team that was so connected all year defensively played lost on last possession.

Todd Golden said the officials told him Folgueiras threw a punch, but it "did not connect", so it was only a flagrant 1 (with no ejection). He is unsure why Condon also received a technical given he was fighting for ball.

I didn’t understand Todd Golden’s decision to put full court press on Iowa up by 2 and give up an open 3. Did he forget they were leading by 2? You gamble and now your defense is scrambling and it cost you the game. I would rather the ball in Boogie’s hand on final play.

Still can’t understand the decision to press while up two… They are the team losing, why rush them? Their pg is an all American, he makes right plays. Makes no sense. Win or lose, still would question the decision.

@ilovetoddgolden @nwblackmon Then the counter could be that we overachieved by winning the SEC regular season Championship. Either way, I like our staff and our roster, just didn’t make the plays needed. UF is going to continue to be a problem. This is a good reminder how tough it is to win in March.

What an incredible 2 year run for Florida. A national championship. A SEC Championship. 63 wins. But heartbreak city tonight in front of a huge home crowd in Tampa. Florida will lose Thomas Haugh- one of the best players in program history. After that? A rebuild or a reload?
