I had a dream last night where lanota chapter 8 released as the final chapter and it went really hard with animated cutscenes, 3D visuals, and full voice acting. I was like "NO WONDER IT TOOK 3 YEARS JEEZ"

Illumination reportedly have pitch the idea to Nintendo to create a shared cinematic universe that would evolve into a Super Smash Bros movie. That universe requires multiple spin-off movies after ‘The Super Mario Bros. Movie’ This was reported @DanielRPK back in 2023
