One month ago today I tried to end my life. Every day since, I’ve had to battle against my brain & somehow keep moving forward…
So taking part in a race today, and getting this medal, feels like a massive achievement ❤️
@mrdarrenyoung Sending much good luck and best wishes. Hubby had prostectomy beginning of pandemic. It's worrying and scary but with love and support you will get through this. There will be better days hope they are soon x god bless
I’m Darren. Will update the profile picture later.
I’ve got just a couple of hours to wait until a radical prostatectomy that will remove my prostate, seminal vesicles, lymph nodes… and hopefully all of the cancer lurking therein and thereabouts.
Diagnosed at 51 following a routine blood test that showed a high PSA level, indicative of cancer.
What faces me now is quite extreme, but it’s life-changing in order not to be life-ending.
Guys: knowledge is power. Get the test when it’s offered. In the UK, 1 in 8 men will get prostate cancer, with rates higher than that in the black community.
@charliersmith1 Sorry to hear that. Know you are loved and cared for. Know that there will be better days. Know that you survived 100% of your bad days so far. ( JUST look at your beautiful smile ) onwards and upwards x
Today’s been a really bad mental health day. Lots of anxiety, dark thoughts, and tears…
BUT I’ve made it out the house for a walk, so that feels like a win!! 😊
On behalf of my family it is with heartbreaking sadness that I mark the passing of my beautiful father Meyrick Sheen today. We were with him throughout. There will never be anyone like him.
RIP Meyrick Sheen (1940 - 2025)❤️
My kids think it’s gross that hubby & I used to put ice cream in Coca Cola as kids.
Guessing it was an 80s/90s thing?
Or, was it a Scottish thing?
I think it was called a float.
