Is it rude to bring kids to a “no kid” wedding if u can’t find a babysitter? 🤔

@Judemoizer70 @KatieAmess I followed the Southport Inquiry and Joanne Hudson from Acorns School was an impeccable witness who’s evidence and reporting of AR was incredible and yet every step she took was blocked. If only she had been listened to.

What an absolute disgrace. We cannot allow these people to slink away into the dark. Someone must accept responsibility so we can stop this happening again. It won’t bring those beautiful children back but it might deter people from being so slack if the know there are consequences. Those poor poor families. My heart breaks for them. The public inquiry found that "no agency or multi-agency structure accepted responsibility" for assessing and managing the "grave risk" posed by the attacker. bbc.com/news/articles/…

@KatieAmess The Inquiry MUST make people accountable, until this happens these situations will continue to happen. In this instance there were so many red flags but NOBODY took responsibility. The report shows who is accountable, they must be held to account otherwise the Inquiry is pointless

When boomers die, their estate will go to their children & grandchildren. Minus IT - abolish. When I was growing up, working class people didn’t own their homes, so we rarely got an inheritance. We just had to pay for funerals. Are the gimme generation factoring this in?

@Saggitta2 @Tinebobagain If you’re making sweeping comments about ‘a cohort’ , don’t be surprised when someone included in said cohort responds. That’s not narcissism

@Judemoizer70 @Tinebobagain No Jude on twitter, ai wasn't specifically speaking about you. I was speaking about your cohort. When people accused women of being narcissistic I always thought it was a misogynistic trope. Until I read twitter. Not everything is about you, love.

@Tinebobagain Sick of the rhetoric that the older generation are to blame for the state of the country now. We waded through our fair share of inequality, 💩 on by governments, but still working to keep paying the bills. Sorry for the language they can just fuck off!

I’m beginning to think that paying it forward is a terrible idea, when you have a generation that doesn’t believe in fair play. Terrible idea. Terrible parents who are raising these kids.

@Tinebobagain You make a fair point but it ignores the fact a majority of the issue comes from the youth today not being able to afford the very basics let alone even dream of buying a home

@Saggitta2 @Tinebobagain So, im a boomer, and would love to know where all my zillions of £ are! Worked my butt off since leaving school, never claimed a benefit, and yet im to blame? Own a small property i paid for! Which will go to 1 child i raised! How's that an issue!

@Tinebobagain Indeed. Boomers are now downsizing/dying, passing huge amounts of money to their children. So, for most of us we aren't only competing with the current generation, we are competing with boomers money. Like boomers haven't done enough damage.

You are so incredibly put of touch, it's laughable. First of all, as a woman in her 40s with a thriving career and a married son, I can tell you that expecting every woman who is a grandmother to just be sitting on her behind all day waiting for grandkids to care for is absurd. Yes, I would watch my grandkids and i can'twait to have them, but I couldnt do it full time, because I work 40 hours a week. I can't collect any of my own retirement funds until I am 59.5. And I PROMISE you I make more than anyone is paying for daycare, so my kids couldnt afford to replace my income (nor would I want them to be burdened like that). Please go exist in the real world and not whatever online la la land blames every person older than you for all the failings of the world. Most of us are just trying to do the best we can and it's rarely ideal.

Genuinely curious—why don’t more people use their own parents/kid’s grandparents for childcare as opposed to daycare/preschool/nannies (which seem more common)? Is it common for boomer grandparents to show disinterest in their grandchildren?

According to what I have been told by millennial man over the last 24 hours, the 60s, 70s, 80s and 90s were an absolute cakewalk of easy money, affluence, plenty and no adversity at all. I wish I could remember that.

My daughter owns her own house in West Sussex. My two stepdaughters own their own houses in Cornwall. My eldest grandson is buying his own house, on his own, in Lancashire. My eldest granddaughter is buying her own flat, on her own, in East Sussex. Because they have a work ethic and aren't spendthrifts.

"You should be thanking me for my salary paying your pension. The state pension is a safety net, not a way of life. You've had years to save privately." Only an arrogant little c*nt from the most cosseted and spoiled generation in history could come up with ignorance like that

Defeat at Haig Avenue as it ends Southport 2-1 Marine. On the balance of play we deserved something out of this. Fair to say with a run of 3 defeats on the road, a return to the MTA on bank holiday Monday cannot come soon enough.
