I wrote it for you, for me, for our children, for all of us. We know where we come from, what it means to experience hate and how important it is to live in peace. We should keep this peace at all costs so that our children and their children never have to experience what we have gone through. I love you. Ndagukunda cyane Marie.

Judence's new book takes children and adults on a reading journey that is understandable, cleverly written and instructive. It shows how important it is to form a unit, how important it is to listen to each other and reach out to each other. The book makes it clear how strong and important cohesion is in society. To fight evil in time, before it gets out of control. It's a quick and interesting read and you can write your own thoughts into it. Well done @JudenceK 👏a must read!

Today I received this beautiful recognition from the Women Book Awards 2026 as Woman in Publishing Leader. I am deeply honored and grateful. My sincere thanks go to everyone who nominated me and believed in my work. Thank you to the judges for this recognition and to the founder Mutesi Gasana for creating a platform that celebrates women in literature and publishing. This award is not only for me but also for every reader, writer, and young person who believes in the power of stories to heal, educate, and unite us. I will continue working to promote literacy, storytelling, and unity through my books and through Inzozi Publisher. Thank you all for your support. ❤️📚 @WomenBookAwards @GermanyinRwanda @MarieKresbach @lyvine_rwanda @gmutesi

An inspiring afternoon at the Women Book Awards 2026, organised by @arisenest and @WomenBookAwards, celebrating women who are shaping Rwanda’s book ecosystem. The event brought together authors, publishers, educators, diplomats, and literacy champions committed to strengthening the culture of reading and storytelling in Rwanda. Among the speakers was Irene Vida Gala, Ambassador of Brazil to Rwanda, who highlighted the transformative role of literacy in empowering women and expanding access to opportunities. Founder Mutesi Gasana emphasised that while women have gained a stronger voice in the literary space, it remains important for them to continue claiming leadership positions across publishing and the wider knowledge industries. The ceremony also honoured veteran author Yolande Mukagasana, whose work continues to inspire young writers and preserve Rwanda’s stories for future generations. With 170 nominations across 11 categories, the awards reflect the growing impact of women across the entire book value chain. Winners: 1. Outstanding Woman Author Award: Mukagasana Yolande 2. Women in Publishing Leadership Award: Inzozi Publishers 3. Emerging Talent Award: Lise Nova 4. Knowledge Economy Catalyst Award: Joan Murungi 5. Literacy & Education Champion Award: Bossio 6. Community Impact Award: Betsy Dickey 7. Cultural Heritage & Preservation Award: Denyse Umuneza 8. Young Female Author Award: Denyse Umuhuza 9. Inclusive Publishing Award for People with Disabilities: Credia Ruzigana #WomenBookAwards #WomenInBooks
