UPDATE | USA… the White House is about to receive something that no policy, no ceremony, and no State Dinner could ever match — three babies — and I need every American reading this right now to stop for one moment and feel what that means — Karoline Leavitt, who stood at that briefing room podium for 39 weeks straight without one single complaint, is days away from holding her baby girl — Usha Vance, who showed up to every ceremony, every event, every moment her husband needed her while carrying their child inside her, is almost there — and Katie Miller, Stephen Miller’s wife, who has quietly stood beside her husband through everything, is right there too — three women, all in their final weeks, all carrying new life inside them, all having given this country everything they had while doing it — and I want every American reading this at whatever hour you are seeing this to close your eyes for one second and just pray, one simple prayer, that all three babies arrive safe, that all three mothers are healthy, and that the White House which has carried so much heaviness these last few days gets to finally exhale with the kind of joy that only a newborn baby can bring into a room — because after everything this week has held, America deserves a good news moment, and I genuinely believe God is about to give us three of them at once.
God, please watch over Karoline, Usha, and Katie tonight. Bring all three babies into this world safe and healthy. The White House is ready for some joy. If you are praying for these three families tonight… say it below. Let them feel every single one of us.

I’m fucking done.
Sixty years of grinding.
A four-year degree earned the hard way.
Raising good kids.
Paying every tax they demanded.
Following every rule.
Voting the way they told us to.
And for what?
A system that mocks us.
Politicians who lie to our faces on camera.
Empty promises of “better days” that were nothing but bait.
They cash the checks. We foot the bill.
We built this country.
We carried it on our backs.
We were the ones who still believed hard work would pay off.
Newsflash:
It doesn’t.
Not anymore.
Not for honest, working, middle-class Americans.
We’re not blind anymore.
We’re awake.
We’re angry.
And we’re done staying quiet.
Who else is finished being exploited?
Drop a 🔥 if you’re with me.
This ends now.

Concerning Social Security payments, my contributions were made for 40 years on every salary I received. Those jobs may not have always been the work I wanted to be doing at the time, BUT I always had a job. The Social Security check is now (or soon will be) referred to as a "Federal Benefit Payment?" I'll be part of the one percent to forward this.
I am forwarding it because it touches a nerve in me, and I hope it will in you. Please keep passing it on until everyone in our country has read it. The government is now referring to our Social Security checks as a "Federal Benefit Payment." This isn't a benefit. It is our money paid out of our earned income! Not only did we all contribute to Social Security but our employers did too. It totaled 15% of our income before taxes.
If you averaged $30K per year over your working life, that's close to $180,000 invested in Social Security. If you calculate the future value of your monthly investment in social security ($375/month, including both you and your employers contributions) at a meager 1% interest rate compounded monthly, after 40 years of working you'd have more than $1.3+ million dollars saved! This is your personal investment. Upon retirement, if you took out only 3% per year, you'd receive $39,318 per year, or $3,277 per month.
That's almost three times more than today's average Social Security benefit of $1,230 per month, according to the Social Security Administration. (Google it – it’s a fact).
And your retirement fund would last more than 33 years (until you're 98 if you retire at age 65)! I can only imagine how much better most average-income people could live in retirement if our government had just invested our money in low-risk interest-earning accounts.
Instead, the folks in Washington pulled off a bigger "Ponzi scheme" than Bernie Madoff ever did. They took our money and used it elsewhere. They forgot (oh yes, they knew) that it was OUR money they were taking. They didn't have a referendum to ask us if we wanted to lend the money to them. And they didn't pay interest on the debt they assumed. And recently they've told us that the money won't support us for very much longer.
But is it our fault they misused our investments? And now, to add insult to injury, they're calling it a "benefit", as if we never worked to earn every penny of it.
Just because they borrowed the money doesn't mean that our investments were a charity!
Let's take a stand. We have earned our right to Social Security and Medicare. Demand that our legislators bring some sense into our government.
Find a way to keep Social Security and Medicare going for the sake of that 92% of our population who need it. Then call it what it is: Our Earned Retirement Income.

At 65, I still honor the upbringing my mother and grandmother gave me in the 60s.
I still say "please."
I still say "thank you."
I still say "you're welcome."
I still say "God bless you" when someone sneezes.
I still hold the door open for whoever is behind me.
I still walk on the street side of the sidewalk when accompanying a woman.
I still offer my seat to the elderly or anyone carrying heavy bags.
I still offer to carry packages for women and the elderly.
I still say "excuse me" when passing or bumping into someone.
I still keep my word.
I’m punctual to a fault so I never keep people waiting.
I answer any and all text messages.
I speak to strangers at or on the elevator.
I don't ignore people when they speak to me - even bums.
I'm polite to everyone I engage with.
AND I still live by the Golden Rule: TREAT OTHERS AS YOU'D WISH TO BE TREATED.
They aren't "outdated relics."
They're the glue that holds our society together.
And I'll keep doing them until the day I die.
Who's with me?

Here is a sad update from Elsa’s dad, Kevin:
We are heartbroken to share news about Elsa.
This morning, she woke up with a drooping face and seemed confused. Adrienne took her to the children’s ER, where we were told that her leukemia has spread to her brain. The doctors said there is not much more they can do other than keep her comfortable.
She received platelets today and is now back home with us, where she should be. Right now, we are focusing on loving her, keeping her comfortable, and cherishing every moment we have together. The doctors believe her time may be very short, possibly around a week.
Please keep Elsa and our family in your thoughts and prayers. We are truly thankful for all the love and support you have shown us throughout this journey.

𝗜'𝗩𝗘 𝗕𝗘𝗘𝗡 𝗜𝗡 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗠𝗔𝗥𝗞𝗘𝗧 𝗙𝗢𝗥 𝗔 𝗡𝗘𝗪 𝗖𝗔𝗥. I love my current car, but it's getting a little long in the tooth.
From what I've seen out there, everything is basically overpriced crap.
Also car dealerships are EMPTY - we're talking NO CUSTOMERS.
If you buy anything new, you get 𝗔𝗕𝗦𝗢𝗟𝗨𝗧𝗘𝗟𝗬 𝗠𝗔𝗨𝗟𝗘𝗗 𝗢𝗡 𝗗𝗘𝗣𝗥𝗘𝗖𝗜𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡 in the first two years. I mean, you're insanely upside down from the moment you drive off a lot.
Leasing can be better, but you're limited on miles.
So now I have a choice.
1. Lease something new (I don't drive much so the miles don't really matter).
2. Buy used (2 years old, low miles, most of the depreciation is it already priced in).
3. Buy new (this is a hard no - depreciation is brutal).
What should I do?
