To say that "time is money" is a grotesque undervaluation of time. You can lose a fortune and make another one. Lost time is irretrievable. Do not trade time for trifles.

@JuhaKaura @chrisfcarroll Er, probably not in Tweets. Get the Lean Architecture book or come to one of my seminars on Lean Architecture or DCI. There will be one at VAL Research in Tokyo (Kōenji) the evening of 27 March. Or is it time for another one in Tampere?

@jcoplien @chrisfcarroll Can @jcoplien explain the difference between form and structure and how this links to YAGNI? I'm sensing an opportunity to learn :)

@chrisfcarroll @JuhaKaura Hmmm... YAGNI is silly for many reasons, many relating to the way that the unconscious processes problems. So YAGNI just throws B away. The XP folks never understood the difference between form and structure. They equivocated architecture with structure. It's form—like a backlog.

@jcoplien @chrisfcarroll Interesting viewpoint @chrisfcarroll I'm intrigued by why would the term "backlog" imply that a dev could ignore the future?

@chrisfcarroll @JuhaKaura A big part of agile is "living in the now." Backlogging the future helps. Without such planning you raise WIP, which destroys flow, lowers quality, and really lowers throughput. Backlogs are central to the lean and agile canons: they help you "ignore" the future, focus on "now."
