@AndrewCFollett @Just_Here_4Food @feelsdesperate The USA sent guns into Iran encouraging the people to rise up but they didn’t rise up… who came up with that tactic? What a brainiac. Turns out destroying someone’s home then asking them to join alongside you isn’t fruitful.

@JuicyCooks336 @Just_Here_4Food @feelsdesperate Heck, even if you think the US objective was "regime change" (which to be clear, it never has been), then you must acknowledge that US proxies like Reza...have actively told their supporters in Iran NOT to rise up, but instead to wait for bombings to end.

Only VERY LOW human capital believe Iran losing its entire navy, air force, leadership, missile arsenal, air defense, naval mines, every Gulf ally it had, and its ability to rebuild any of that is a win for Iran.

War can be seen as a process of gaining information. In this one, what we learned is that the Iranian regime is more stable and has more resolve than we thought. They've made another war unthinkable for future US presidents. That's a clear victory. richardhanania.com/p/what-iran-won

@AndrewCFollett @Just_Here_4Food @feelsdesperate Rubio said it was. Trump has also implied many times that he wanted regime change. Iran is still Iran. They are still standing. And they are in Israel’s way in terms of achieving regional hegemony. May they continue to reign hell on Israel.

@JuicyCooks336 @Just_Here_4Food @feelsdesperate The US objective isn't and was never "remove Iranian regime." Heck, that wasn't even the ISRAELI objective. US objectives were/are to reduce Iran's ability to project power abroad. That objective has been achieved.

@Just_Here_4Food @AndrewCFollett @feelsdesperate I don’t think the losses outweigh the fact that the regime is still in place, they still control the strait, and the USA didn’t invade via ground troops. If you’re Iran what could have turned out more favorably?

@AndrewCFollett @feelsdesperate This is such a bad comparison. My god. They 100% did not get crushed. They are still standing and still in control. That’s a win. You would think at some point this country would leave the Middle East alone but here we are.

@JuicyCooks336 @feelsdesperate There wasn't regime change in Japan and they still totally control the Tsushima Strait today. Reality is, Iran got crushed. Their military infrastructure, Navy, and Air Force are all gone.

🚨🇮🇱🇱🇧 HEZBOLLAH HIDES BEHIND CIVILIANS. ISRAEL STILL HAS TARGETS TO HIT. Former IDF Spokesperson Jonathan Conricus explains why pre-emptive strikes are a military necessity. He says Hezbollah is deliberately using Lebanese civilians as human shields. "Israel has every right and obligation to defend itself against those firing at northern cities and killing civilians." This isn't indiscriminate bombing. It's precision warfare against an enemy that hides in plain sight. Hezbollah chose the battlefield. Israel is just fighting on it. @jconricus
Mario Nawfal@MarioNawfal

🚨🇮🇱🇱🇧 LEBANON CAN'T CONTROL ITS OWN TERRITORY Former IDF Spokesperson Jonathan Conricus says Israel's only fight is with Hezbollah, not Lebanon. But peace is impossible when a country can't govern itself. Hezbollah controls the south. Iran pulls the strings. Beirut watches helplessly. "Until Lebanon removes the proxy threat, the cycle of conflict will continue." Foreign powers keep interfering. Lebanese sovereignty keeps shrinking. This isn't Israel's problem to solve. It's Lebanon's. And Lebanon is running out of time. @jconricus

@Saritaregresa @triggerpod @bungarsargon @POTUS You and I maybe, but many people weren’t at the time. His willingness to put himself out there and talk like a real human being made him more likable. Many of us regret voting for him as he has sucked this term thus far and quite possibly has killed future elections for the right

I mean, they empirically don't seem to have more control than the did yesterday, and - I just pulled up the deal - both US and Iranian positions here exist basically for a two week period of actual negotiations. But, this sort of ignores my point. Your (I assume) political side spent the entire day pretend-crying about "genocide." The USA could have made this a reality at will: Iran's ENTIRE navy is gone. Their skies are US and Israeli air-space. Almost their entire starting leadership team is dead. Instead of this happening, Trump and the current leadership team - due to some mutual respect, optics concerns, etc - decided to hold real talks. My question is astonishingly simple: are you upset this happened? My own prediction would be that, if these fail, you and even the Big Blue homie Coaston (congrats!) will immediately go BACK to fake crying about genocide. No one actually thinks Iran won. The thru-line for every modern left argument is simply that wotever the West does is bad.

Boom. You CAN build walls on borders. You CAN lock up criminals. You CAN tell foemen to die or yield (although this is 99% of the time a bluff). Ask yourself: what should we do with the theories of those who say you cannot? Do you care enough about their particular variant of made-up "morality" to follow it into failure? I don't, personally, but we ate armed here and so we get to vote.

Boomer here. I bought my first house after ten years of saving like crazy. And the interest was 14.5%. I don’t know where kids got the idea that they were due a house and new car at college graduation, but that’s NOT how it ever was.
heretical lakeloon@loonlake55

Too many young people are resenting Boomers, claiming that Boomers had it " easy " financially in their youth. Here are a few fun facts about growing up Boomer. 1. Almost everyone grew up with one bathroom. Mom, Dad and all 3-6 siblings. 2. If you did get to take a vacation, you drove. With no air conditioning. No cup holders. No iPads. Just black vinyl seats and bologna sandwiches. 3. There were no club sports. No Parks and Rec activities. Summer camp was for rich kids. Get yourself a bike, a stick and a few friends. If you were bored, you laid in the grass and looked at clouds. 4. You ate what was served. Even if it was chicken livers. No DoorDash, no backup Totino's rolls. 5. No AP classes, no PSEO, no "fun" elective. They assigned you to a class. You went. You did what they asked. Or else. 6. Unless you had rich parents, you had a nice VFW wedding. Maybe rent a room at a modest hotel. 7. Most Boomers got their first pedi and mani in their 50s (when their feet got farther away). We didn't even know people got massages in real life, only in Hollywood. 8. You packed your own lunch for decades. 9. No one knew what red light therapy was, a facial, a spa day, or a cold plunge. Your gym was the YMCA. Usually in a rather old building. 10. We grew up with 18 percent inflation, 14 percent mortgage rates, 3 million continuing unemployment claims, and 200 other applicants competing for the same job. Now, this is not to say Millenials and Gen Z have it easy or don't face problems. It's just to say, nobody has it easy or doesn't face problems. My only hope, as my mom would say, is I live long enough to see my kids' kids complain about how easy they had it!
