Democrats keep reaching for the past because they have nothing to offer for the future. Every election cycle, it’s the same script: America is racist. Voter ID is “Jim Crow 2.0.” Anyone who disagrees is smeared and condemned. But let’s talk about reality. My great-great-grandfather was born on a plantation. Generations later, his descendants attended United States Military Academy, served this country, and one of them now serves in the United States Congress. When I walked into the Capitol today, there was no “white entrance” or “colored entrance.” There was simply an entrance for Members of Congress. That is progress. That is America. 🇺🇸
