Our 🆕 study on insect declines in German forests confirm a trend shown by @SebSeibold et al. 2019 (nature.com/articles/s4158…) We show that the majority of forest insects 🪳🐞declined consistently over 10 years. Led by Michael Staab (not on twitter) (1/5)

Very happy: final paper of my PhD out in Myrmecological News today! Check out their twitter thread, blog entry and of course the original article for the deeds on head anatomy of the wonderfully weird ant Tatuidris tatusia, "poneroid" evolution and mandible mechanics.
