@willyhfrick This is a good question! I don’t use man/woman at all in my HPI intro anymore since I usually don’t confirm with the patient. I think I would write “25yo on estrogen for gender affirmation” even though it is a mouthful.

Do you include in your one liner of the patient is trans? E.g. “Patient is a 25 year old transwoman with a history of…” Or do you just stick with “25 year old woman?”

My dad was paged into the hospital today because a patient wanted to see him. When he arrived, the patient was someone he had seen many years ago at a different hospital, when he was a new attending. He wanted to see my dad to give him this as thanks.

Had to do a 'peer to peer' yesterday for one of my patients. Insurance holding up clearly needed PET for lung cancer.
I spent 25 mins on phone. All I did was go over the same information that they already had.
They approved it.
They delayed it.
They need to own it.
