I was recently on a panel with several other professors and we were asked to give some tips to graduate students in machine learning. It got me thinking about why professors are so bad at giving advice. So here are some reasons why you should not take advice from professors.

To explain for folks who don't know German: In formal letters the correct salutation is "highly esteemed Ms. Dr. xxx". Apparently "highly esteemed Mr. Dr. xxx" is clearer, more precise, and easier. 🤷‍♀️ Seems to appropriately reflect society.

Sometimes I just *love* how blatantly sexist AI is. Just used German DeepL Write and it "perfect(ed) my writing in seconds" by changing the gender of the Dr.-person I was addressing to a guy. Their slogan? "Clearly, precisely, and with ease".
