The clear highlight of the World Cup half-time show was Justin Bieber performing “Everything Hallelujah.”
He could have chosen any of his old hits. Instead he sang a song about finding gratitude in the ordinary moments of life and responding with praise. On one of the biggest stages on earth, with hundreds of millions watching, he kept declaring “hallelujah,” a word that means praise the Lord.
The song treats everyday things like a kiss from a loved one or simply waking up as small miracles worth thanking God for. That message reached a global audience without blasphemy or irony. Christ was acknowledged in front of the world.
That is an epic win. There is no good reason for Christians to counter-signal it.
