If I say “free Palestine” to a Jewish person and they start attacking me, have I lost the right to self defense because I “provoked” them? What if I say “You’re not a real woman” to a trans person? What if say “God is real” to an Atheist? I’m now legally responsible for my own assault and limited in my ability to defend myself from death or serious bodily harm? Or does everyone actually understand that you don’t lose the right to self defense just because you said a word someone doesn’t like? I’m sorry, but I choose to live in America where freedom of speech is enshrined as the 1st Amendement for a reason - and the 2nd ensures it. Fuck tyranny.
