@silva_mtg_ Our build I think was very ahead vs lessons I 4-0ed and I believe our team record was something like 68% vs it— can maybe see if we can save a slot or two vs that deck since it felt so good

Ended 10-5 for 82nd. Not the result I hoped for but at least I played well today. This deck was way out of my comfort zone so it was a great growth tournament. Back to the lab. 4th straight day two— plz implement a points system for RC’s 😂

@silva_mtg_ Thanks! In testing one thing we maybe overlooked was a single copy of realm of koh— would have been great a few times. I also think could maybe go up to 2 flash freeze with how well green did—add an additional riddler In the board so 1 main 2 side

6-1 into 6-3 for day two… played horrifically, under the weather but no excuses. Time to recalibrate and try to salvage this tournament. Haven’t been this upset with my play in a while but tomorrow is a new day

@PlayMTG Why on earth would this be the same weekend as the US Regional Championship?? it’s already annoying that if you do well at the RC’s you don’t get to play the Sunday limited championship tourneys and now they take the only other option and put it on the same weekend???

@twinlesstwin @OndrejStrasky I feel like the card is kinda good against Simic— you get into these game states where neither deck is allowed to function optimally with dead dorks and killed monuments… a somewhat large vigilance evasive threat that draws a card or maybe two has felt good for me

@OndrejStrasky Didn’t really feel like I needed Won Shi Tong to beat landfall. Had one in Atlanta but it’s so narrow and landfall doesn’t command that respect right now imo. Not enough meta share and not strong enough.

Well… 6-3 into day two spotlight avatar. Ran HORRENDOUSLY today including mulling to 3? Never done that before. Enjoying lessons, decks so much fun, format is horrible excited for lorwyn. Gotta 6-0 tomorrow!

Since coming back to competitive magic after a 13 year break from the game the learning curve was steep but I finally feel like I’m in a place where I am in the swing of things. I have some big goals for 2026, I know what it takes to get where I want to be, time to earn it.

What a year of magic it’s been. Made the PT, played worlds, just shy of cracking the fabled 2k elo. Nice to see the quantifiable progress from the work I’ve been putting in. Long way to go from where I want to be but so excited for next year. Ready to get back to the grind!!

Biggest lessons I’ve learned. 1. Play with people better than you as much as you possibly can 2. Everyone has something to offer, a skill you can pick up, a way of thinking about the game, a heuristic you haven’t tried yet 3. Preparation is everything. 4. Trust your instinct

Can’t even get through round 1 without @MTGO crashing—- PLEASE @wizards_magic put modern on arena and get rid of this complete embarrassment of a program. It’s disgusting. It’s so unfair to people to block their whole day for a tournament and have it be un functional. EVERYTIME.

Yesterday @Huschenmtg and I visited @kaibudde, who is unfortunately battling the only opponent he cannot defeat. I posted this in the @MagicOnline discord today. The platform has become so bloated with events that most (at least those I’ve tried to play) M-F don’t fire. With premier events on most weekends, it’s not feasible to practice or get enough QPs to participate. This has to change.

Had an amazing time playing worlds… was an honor to share the table with such incredible gamers— died at 2-4. My draft pod was uh let’s say tough Some bad variance combined with flawless play from my opponents led to a not so exciting record. Can’t wait to get back here.
