@Loon4Sanditon @Janemf70austen1 I don’t agree. He took the lazy route. I stick by my idea that he could’ve married S and C between s1 and 2, send him to antigua and continue their storyline. S shows up in last 10 mins of s3. Didn’t even have to be TJ. Just knowing it was S would’ve made me happy.

@fraserfan8888 @lucilymect Then you can’t claim it’s inspired by JA’s work if you kill her main character. If you want to stay in the same spirits as her work, you find a way around it. TJ didn’t even have to be in the other two seasons. SP is in Antigua while Charlotte is in Sanditon. Voilà.

@JulieLedoux6 TJ was unwilling to reprise his role. The writers had 1/2 choices. Kill off/recast. Recast would have not been successful. JY concluded C's journey beautifully. PBS/RPP refused to be held hostage to the whims of a actor who had zero understanding of Austen.

THEY took HIS deliberately caused mess and rescued it and turned it into a lovely story and resolution - which I'm sure Jane Austen would have cheered on.
