At least 5 children killed. 3 injured. UNICEF is deeply concerned by airstrikes in Ponnagyun & Myinmu, Myanmar. Ongoing clashes are displacing children & disrupting services they rely on. All parties must protect children. @UNICEFMyanmar unicef.link/4b6yVG6

Appalled by the attack on Mrauk-U Hospital in Rakhine State, Myanmar. At least 33 people have been killed and 20 injured, including health workers, patients and family members. Hospital infrastructure was severely damaged, with operating rooms and the main inpatient ward completely destroyed. Mrauk-U People’s Hospital is the primary health care center in the area, providing health and emergency services, obstetric care, and surgical capacity. This attack will disrupt access to health care for entire communities. This is the 67th attack on health verified by @WHOMyanmar this year. Every attack on health care is an attack on humanity. Health facilities, patients and health workers must be protected at all times. Stop attacks on health care!

Funding cuts to humanitarian programmes are forcing UNICEF to make impossible choices for children in emergencies. Together, we can and must rise to the challenge to ensure - #ForEveryChild in emergencies - survival, safety and well-being.
