Fear kills more dreams than failure ever will

You have built an entire identity around being someone who could succeed if they tried. That identity is a warm blanket. Real action is a cold shower. When you finally attempt something, you risk losing the story that has comforted you for years. What if you try and discover you are average? What if you try and find no special talent? This is not fear of failure. This is fear of ordinariness. So you stay in the planning phase forever. You buy the notebook. You watch the tutorial. You tell friends your idea. Anxiety spikes whenever someone asks for a deadline. You are not protecting your future. You are protecting a fantasy that has already expired.

Lots of new college grads starting their first finance jobs around now. Some simple career advice: Focus on being helpful to those around you above anything else. Its a mindset that accelerates folks seeing you as a valuable team member and is a foundation for faster learning.

heaven's team is no longer following a linear vest although the team's vest will technically continue to be dispersed on streamflow on the first of every month for the next year, the team has pledged to re-vest all team tokens and adhere to a 1 year cliff more below...

Every time you make a quick big win, and especially if mainly due to luck, send most of it to a cold wallet or the bank and do not count on it for some time. Your brain discounts the value of the money when it comes quick and/or easy. $100k earned in a 1-day pump in a memecoin feels less (much less) than $100k after a couple of years of going to the office. You can lie to yourself thinking you value money always the same but it’s not true. When you make those sort of wins, you will not be able to gauge risk objectively and will take a trade for the sake of it like a gambler would do. That’s hard to do because your brain releases a lot of dopamine. And a strong dopamine. Because it was not simply making money — but you were also right! The combination of both has a big power on your brain. What you can do instead: 1. Force yourself to send that money away and wait for a cool-off period. Show some fkn discipline. 2. In the meantime, journal your urge and impatience. This will help you cool off. 3. Buy a small amount of that "super easy next trade you were going to compound" with a different stack of money and check whether it feels different. Most people immediately look for the next win after a big one. But practice tells us that those don’t come often. Therefore, you should be more focused on protecting your recent win than throwing it to the next gamble. Pretty sure after only 1 day, you’ll see things differently.

Putting kids through too many status games makes them risk-averse. They go through middle school, high school, college, every step doing the "right" thing. They go into a world with a deep fear of ever accidentally stepping off the "golden road"

I'm using @AwakenTax for my crypto taxes 📢 They are by far the best crypto tax platform for crypto natives, and Solana + a bunch of other chains are free.

One thing people don’t realize yet, is that in China, this is playing out *SO* well for Xi right now culturally. And the greatest irony, is the mistake Trump made, is one we first see cited historically in Sun Tzu’s art of war: “围师必阙, 攻城必阙, 勿以利诱人, 勿以力逼人” Roughly: “When you surround your enemy, or surround a city, leave an outlet for your enemy to flee. Do not tempt people with profit, do not force them with strength” Basically, you need to leave a pressure release. If you fully surround people and they have no choice but to fight, they become emboldened and fight tooth and nail. If you leave an outlet, they will be fractured, some will push for that off ramp, and your side will come out better off, by not giving them this strength rallying point. America is this “tariff-wielding barbarian” that is attempting to bully countries - but Xi gets to look like a strong hero by digging in. But the Trump admin isn’t equipped for this moment. They think brutality is the only path, and surrounded by yes-men, who tell Trump he is a genius negotiator when getting no deals - they come in too strong, and in turn strengthen their enemy. Exactly like what we saw with the push back in Canada.
Adam@AdameMedia

Chinese Foreign Ministry Office in Hong Kong: “We must solemnly tell the US that a tariff-wielding barbarian who attempts to force countries to call and beg for mercy can never expect that call from China.” The call is not coming.

suffering equals lesson equals improvement there has not been a single instance in my life, a life that my close friends tell me I should write a book about, where I fucked up and few months/years later didn't learn something from it, brushed it off and became a better man for it. keep your head high, these are invaluable lessons that will pay off tenfold down the line, as long as you don't give up. days like these, log off, spend time with friends & family, leave the delusional bubble of financial markets where people think $100k is not a lot of money. it is. I know it's easy for me to say, considering I've partially secured my future and only have few more years of casual work to fully 'make it' - alas, I've been down in the gutter, almost broke, suicidal, merely few years ago. I know how it feels, I've felt the razor blade cutting me inside out, helpless, desperate, hopeless. it gets better I promise, as long as you don't give up. you only lose when you give up. until then, all defeat is psychological. it's not real. it's a feeling. nothing else. stay strong.
