Settlement is one of the least exciting topics in finance, until you realize how much it costs. Every financial transaction eventually has to settle. That means ownership changes hands and money is transferred between buyer and seller. Today, that process often involves multiple intermediaries, reconciliation, paperwork, and waiting periods. In many markets, settlement still takes days. Blockchain technology compresses much of that process into a single shared ledger. Everyone sees the same transaction history. Ownership updates almost instantly. Less manual reconciliation means lower operational costs and fewer opportunities for errors. Settlement is rarely discussed on CT, but improving it could save the financial industry billions over time.

Fractional ownership changes who gets access to investing. For decades, many investments were reserved for institutions or wealthy individuals. Not because they were better investors, but because the minimum investment was simply too high. Tokenization changes that equation.
