Moving from paper tickets to digital might look great on a balance sheet: less admin, lower costs, and less hassle for clubs. In reality, it has created a tout’s dream. Relying heavily on basic QR codes stored in mobile wallets means tickets are easily screenshot, shared, and resold multiple times. Far from fixing the problem, the shift to digital has opened the floodgates to abuse. I'm pretty sure this wasn't what the @premierleague intended, but it is precisely what’s happening on the ground. NFC tickets are more secure but not enforced by the guide, but even then, there are loopholes around them. There should have been far more research and discovery into secure approaches that prevent exploitation. I posted an image earlier showing how ridiculously easy it has become for touts to charge extortionate prices for standard £30 tickets (like the Hull example), and then abuse that. Look at Newcastle away back in March 2026: the away ticket office had handwritten numbers on envelopes showing how many times a ticket had been downloaded, which resulted in manual spot checks. I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again: our tickets are not secure. Read through my posts, and you’ll see how much of a mess digital ticketing currently is, leaving genuine match-going supporters completely unprotected. This isn't just on United. It’s on every club, and even more so on the #premierleague for providing a lacklustre handbook ruling on how digital ticketing should actually be implemented. See my repost for more on the matter, and link to the guidebook.

No consultation results on the new stadium? Not following their own t and c's on sanctions? banning people without evidence? It is just absolutely shit. Seeing the City thing yesterday just adds to the depression, as i've seen how the club use examples of other teams to justify.

Where is the desire for journalistic oversight on these cancelled STs going to the waiting list? what about the clear increase in premium seats in general admission areas? legalised touting? What about the security issues with their ticketing system? Lesser ballot successes?

Really fed up seeing the light touch coverage of the ticket stuff. I feel like people put the clubs side across without scrutinising it. If it's not the clubs intention to reduce STs, it's necessary to point out that they removed transparency on ticketing 12 months ago.

Let me say this very directly. Football does not belong to investors. It belongs to the people who fill the stands and who stand on the touchline week in, week out, rain or shine. The World Cup is not a product. It is the greatest competition in world sport, and it was never anyone's to sell. Dress the deal up however you like. Once you have sold a piece of it, you have sold out. Football belongs to the fans. It always has, and it always will.

Ugh. Starting to like some of the things he's actually doing. As long as the noise around him remains just noise (like the LVT), then I could get on board with this.

Viewing figures up. Venues sold out. PDC memberships at record highs. More kids/families into darts than ever before. Generating record breaking revenues. Records being broken on the boards. But Littler is boring & it’s bad for the sport apparently. Clueless. #MatchPlayDarts

The problem is with not buying another LB is you’re then reliant on Amass who is probably not ready to play as many games as he will need to this season. Best to buy a LB and then loan amass out to a decent league and then he can be shaws replacement next season.

@IDRV_MUFC It’s definitely harder nowadays because money is so much easier to come by at the highest level. I think deep down he wants every record so will carry on

There is no reason for a supporters trust overseeing thousands of supporters being sanctioned (wrongly - in their view) to not refer what has happened to the regulator.
Toe In The Water@ToeInTheWater1

@henrywinter Regulator activated licence conditions from November 2025 and can accept reports of breaches right now. Cancelling 000s of S/Ts would fit the reporting threshold, especially since the club looks like it has misapplied contract law (see Section 3 below) x.com/OhCheesesChris…
