This is one of the best threads I've seen about hitting. Thank you for giving real info that hitting coaches & players can enjoy! Efficiency in the swing is a key not many people talk about!
Nate Marko@NateMarko2

My biggest takeaway from studying Vahn Lackey: Elite hitters don't always move more or less. They move more efficiently. The challenge for coaches isn't rebuilding great swings. It's identifying the one refinement that could make them even better.

Plus the area guys are getting hamstrung on gut feel. Gone are the days of the scout’s intuition and trusting their eyes/evals. Might as well throw 20/80 scale away for raw tools. The data now projects the player. Model works when you have info on ALL players. No data = No draft.
Zac Cole@ZacCole_

The lack of Juco players being drafted the last two years is not a talent issue. Region 8 has had draftable talent the last two years. The issue is the lack of data and analytics on our players. The current draft model most orgs are running can’t properly account for our level.

Pet Peeve: Hitter takes Strike 1. Should have swung at it. Instead: Nods head yes to umpires strike call. #PleaseStop

James Wood is my sweet son. He's Intelligent, kind, funny, and a hell of baseball player. James Woods with an "s" is an actor and a different sort of fella altogether. Felt like that was important to say right about now. Sure wish others were as careful about spelling as I am.

Dusty May on how his ambition has evolved and how becoming a dad led him to redefine success. "I was probably 25 and I was incredibly ambitious and and I was trying to get to the top quickly. And then once Ann and I started having children, my entire perspective changed. I simply wanted to enjoy who I worked with, enjoy who I coached, and try to be the absolute best coach I could be." The longer I work with coaches, the more I realize that the most fulfilled ones aren't always the ones with the premier titles or the highest paid. They're the ones who have clarity about why they coach in the first place. Ambition isn't just chasing bigger jobs or dream destinations. Real ambition is chasing a better version of yourself. You don't have to choose between being ambitious and being fulfilled. The goal is to chase excellence while protecting the people and priorities that make the pursuit worthwhile in the first place. 📹: Dallas Mavericks

This is a must-watch on Willson Contreras and Cade Cavalli’s back and forth. - Cade Cavalli said “boy” a bunch of times. - We got proof that Cavalli DIDN’T see Contreras apologize after the two brushed up following the first (mesh of the broadcasts looked different). - Willson Contreras got grabbed by the neck. - The Nate Eaton and Miles Mikolas shoving is very funny. - Chad Epperson was doing his best trying to contain Contreras. - Good research on Contreras’ history of crossing the field like that. Or lack thereof.
