Super weekend in #BolognaRQ, made Day 2 and best-of with RENATA GLASC (8-5)! Can't deny the deck isn't as strong as the top meta ones, but it's a bit underrated. It performs great if you nail the game plan. Still needs a bunch of tweaks tho not really happy with how a couple of cards performed. I felt really sad about the stream games. Game 1 had basically nothing to do, and in game 3 my brain completely switched off. I made some dumb misplays, forgot to use the poro trigger (tilted hard at myself), and right after I deathgripped thinking I still had the poro, only realizing afterwards that I didn’t and game was giga Lost by turn 2 At least game 2 was an okay demonstration of the deck’s potential. As promised, the Renata Guide has been updated for Lille! It now includes a new decklist, detailed card explanations, and some pre-Lille thoughts. I know bans are coming soon, but I believe the current list should remain largely the same. Once the bans are announced, I’ll push a minor update with my thoughts and any necessary changes based on how the meta evolves. Thank you for the support!

@Reijin373 Hi yes I'm planning to update it by the end of the month/first week of April, I don't want to publish something I haven't tested intensively so I'll just wait to go though the lille testing process so after I will have something concrete to show

@JustSR__ Do you plan to update it as you said you wanted to publish it fast for Vegas?

Viktor and Rek'sai are indeed the 2 worst matchups, both feel terribly bad I wouldn't put too much weight on Rek since its not played much but viktor is for sure an issue, in the guide I went though the issues but to make it short in order to have a real and consistent chance against him we would have to revamp our whole sideboard but then you are going to lose out on other matchups.

@JustSR__ First of all congratulations on winning best of renata! I've been trying this list this days and i quite enjoy it, but i also feel like it suffers a lot against mu like viktor or rek'sai, how do you face those matchups? any tips?

@Reijin373 Also just noticed there's an error in the main deck: you put Atlas and 2× Salvage, but it should be 0 Atlas, 1× Salvage, and 3 Ornn And its not reckoner's arena but arena's greatest

As I mentioned, Blood Money felt like the biggest miss way too easy to play around. It was really only good in the rare cases where you had to kill your own unit during combat, but that shouldn’t happen often anyway, and even then it doesn’t feel great. I’m still undecided on Vilemaw. It’s solid as a go-second BF, but sometimes you’re forced to sit on it, and that’s awkward because it stops your Ornn from moving back before a warp. Yeah, pretty much. The plan is to hold one battlefield when possible and catch up later on points, or just survive the early game without giving up too much, and the deck has a decent late game. The gameplan for all matchups will be a bit too long to write, but really shortly: vs. Draven mid, stack when you know you have good chances to hold and recover on points later. Miracle is rough, hope they have a slow start. Irelia is fine-ish, kinda hard to explain it shortly. It's still unfavorable, but you can play some of your lines. If you're missing Ornn by turn 3/4, use gold tokens aggressively and try to get the Irelia champ out of the game ASAP, even if it means committing a lot.

@JustSR__ Congrats! I’m playing her in Vegas. Can I ask what is your general strategy? Is it just to stack on 1 battlefield and hope they can’t conquer it before you do TimeWarp/Renata Mastermind things? Also, what’s your plan against Draven and other top meta decks?

@_Aaron_Curry Seems fine. Initially, I was playing something pretty similar, it's a lot more tempo-based but it felt so bad vs. Draven that I moved away from it. On a side note, I would never play without 3x Ornn now.

@JustSR__ Totally fair! I have been playing bellows so maybe I should’ve included that as part of the question. (Ignore the sideboard it definitely needs work)

Both matchups are tough and sometimes need to rely on the opponent not really knowing the matchup well and falling into almost game ending hostile takeovers/big warps Ornn easily mvp in both mu Draven mid is doable, Draven miracle is really really rough Side was ofc pretty situational on the mu but overall the card was cut the most I think was blood money

About Watcher, I was playing with it for most of the testing prior to the tournament, but it never felt great. The biggest issue is that your plan most of the time is to hold the battlefield and prepare for a multiple points turn with Warp/Warp + Renata. That leaves you most of the time with nothing in base and just an accelerated Watcher without Bellows Breath, which just gets taken care of by a single Fight or Flight. So, for the same mana, Golem feels a little better to set up for an upcoming big turn. Ekko performed great at all stages of the game, ngl. Also, him being 6 mana helps A LOT, it allows you to have more runes when you need to put it together. I can even see running 3 in the future. Shen did his job, but it feels really bad when you draw it and miss early Conquests. I can also see Watcher coming back to the list, but if so, it will be in combination with Bellows.

@JustSR__ Any particular reason to not run watcher? Feels like it solves a lot of midrange problems for the deck. Looks like you have trove golem and maybe ekko in their place. Also curious how useful ekko/shen felt overall.
