@evilkuchikopii @leshaami My wife gave birth to our daughter who was placenta previa, but thankfully not to a degree that was considered to be significantly hazardous to either of their health. However, that isn't the case for all women and they need to have the choice be available to them for safety.

@leshaami I almost killed my mother due to placenta previa!! Thankfully I was 8 months at the time, but had I been 6? I would have been aborted even if I was mostly developed. And ykw, I would have been fine with that. Because had I not been taken out of my mom, she would have DIED.

Hi, so the woman who carried and gave birth to me was 13 years old, celebrated her 14th birthday only days before I was born. I should’ve been aborted. It’s really terrible that she was made to carry and birth a baby while she was a child herself.
Am I happy to be alive? Yes. Absolutely. Very happy to be here. Would I be mad had I been aborted? No, I wouldn’t exist, I wouldn’t feel anything. I shouldn’t exist. She was a child. The lives of girls/women are more valuable than fetuses.

Clarification on my stance regarding FFXIV story skipping.
I'm not saying people shouldn't be allowed to skip if they really want to. But the person I was responding to wanted to fundamentally change the game, by removing duty roulette support for lower level dungeons. This would make finding groups for leveling players even more difficult, and ultimately putting the pressure on them to skip the story.
If you want to change Final Fantasy XIV to become more like World of Warcraft, then I think you should just play World of Warcraft.
It's okay for there to be two different games, catering to two different types of MMORPG players. Not everything needs to cater to endgame players.

Honestly, if you don't care about story, and you just want to play an MMORPG that's focused entirely around endgame, then I'm not sure Final Fantasy XIV is for you. So much of it is about the journey, rather than the destination, like how classic RPG's used to be. If you just want endgame, which is fine, I'd honestly play World of Warcraft instead, instead of trying to push Final Fantasy XIV to be like World of Warcraft. We can have different games for different people. Final Fantasy XIV is about going on a long and slow journey of exploration, meeting and befriending both story characters and other players, and becoming attached to the world and its mysteries. So many of its most impactful and awe inducing moments are exactly because of that slow journey it took you to get there. And if that's not your you, again, that's okay. But you should probably find another game.

In 2013, the entire internet (rightfully) cooked Microsoft for the Xbox One’s mandatory 24-hour check-in DRM. It was a PR disaster so bad they had to do a total 180 before launch just to survive.
Massive waves of people fled to PlayStation, claiming they were "voting with their wallets" for "the gamers" and "ownership."
Fast forward to 2026, and those same people have spent over a decade building massive digital libraries in the Sony ecosystem, only to find themselves dealing with the exact same "periodic authentication" DRM they claimed to hate back then.
The funniest part? Watching those same people now do absolute mental gymnastics to defend it. "It's just a bug!" "It's for security!" "Who stays offline for 30 days anyway?" The gaslighting is incredible.
Turns out the DRM wasn't defeated in 2013; it just waited for you to get comfortable and trapped in a digital ecosystem.
