But SA Franchises is on a hiding to nothing here; they can develop players and overseas clubs can basically just take out the chequebook and take them. To complete in two leagues including the travel we need - 3x Tight 5s = 15 2.5x sets of loosies = 7 3x 9s = 3 2x 10s = 2 3x midfield = 3 5x backfield = 5 1x all rounders = 1 All rounders like Gaza (10-15) and David Kriel (11-15) are so scarce and worth tankers of Crude Oil. This is 36 players of quality. Even I feel it is maybe light. We will never get there. Stormers used 48 players this year. My feeling was the narrow squad is only 28 but stretching it a bit maybe 30. So my feeling this season was maybe Stormers need to develop another 8-10 players who will be starting without weaken the side. I have the names for you, they are there, but they need time on grass, in the U23 comp, in the Currie Cup and in the URC. This it seems is a forever battle for SA Franchises.
