Omer Bartov is an Israeli professor of Holocaust and genocide studies at Brown University. His new book, “Israel: What Went Wrong?,” argues that Zionism has morphed into an ideology of extremism that led to genocide in Gaza following the Hamas attacks of October 7th. He joins David Remnick on #RadioHour to discuss. Listen to the full episode: swap.fm/l/tny-radiohou…

There’s a lot of misinformation out there, so let me be clear. I have not, am not, and will not take money from AIPAC.

He is a useful idiot that MAGA can use to undermine Democrats in the midterms and his cult thinks it's based or whatever

Hasan Piker has a massive platform - with over 11.3 million followers - and he's used it to normalize and amplify extremist rhetoric. The prominent Twitch streamer has explicitly expressed support for U.S.-designated terrorist organizations, including Hamas, Hezbollah, the Houthis and the PFLP. Piker recently said, "I would vote for Hamas over Israel every single time" and he's called Hezbollah's flag his "favorite." On multiple occasions, he's used the dehumanizing terms "inbred" and "psychopath" to refer to Israeli and Orthodox Jews. He's also used rhetoric that trivializes the Holocaust, including by insinuating that Anne Frank would have supported the Houthis and equating Israel with Nazi Germany. Jews are not alone on the receiving end of Piker's vile rhetoric. On his livestreams, Piker has made misogynistic jokes about date rape and responded to Black critics with vulgar sexual insults. Piker amplifies this pattern of hate to millions of followers. His growing involvement in electoral politics and mainstream media spreads these toxic messages far beyond fringe spaces.

Happy Tax Day, New York. We’re taxing the rich.

Hey @nytimes, can you let me know why you are giving a guy who said I should be murdered such a glowing platform? Would love to know your standards.... nytimes.com/2025/04/27/sty…

Dems like Shapiro (Newsom, Buttigieg too) keep ditching ties with their suits, meanwhile the younger Mamdani almost always wears one

If the Democratic establishment has any hope of holding on to the party, it should end American financial support for Israel—and if it doesn’t, the party will be overrun by a wing with far more radical beliefs, @jonathanchait argues. theatlantic.com/ideas/2026/04/…
