Prison officials pepper-sprayed Antonio Smith, then held him naked in a freezing cell for 23 hours — refusing him clothes unless he ended his hunger strike. The Seventh Circuit said that crossed a constitutional line. Then blocked him from presenting his claims to a jury.

AAJ filed an amicus brief in the Third Circuit to protect the rights of those harmed by asbestos. If defendants win, companies could drag any asbestos victim into federal court based on speculation alone, stripping families of their right to sue in their state courts.

SCOTUS ruled that NJ Transit is NOT entitled to immunity, protecting injured people's right to seek justice when they are harmed. Last year, AAJ filed an amicus brief, urging the Court to reject NJ Transit's immunity defense and protect access to justice for injured plaintiffs⬇️
