The immediate sanction prohibits Dr Murphy from practicing during the appeal period [she has 28 days in which she can appeal]. This order prevents her practicing during that period and remains in force until any appeal is determined.

RP doesn't wish to make any submissions on an immediate order, it's a matter for the tribunal

CF argues why an immediate order should be imposed. This is a case at the very top end of seriousness, in order to protect public confidence in the profession an immediate order is necessary

Copies of public determination available at this stage will be distributed now

Chair has copies of the determination available, private determination for counsel only at this stage

A suspension does not mean automatic return to the register at the end of 12 mths, the review hearing will decide whether you are suitable or fit to be returned to the register

Dr Murphy the decision we have reached is suspension for a period of 12mths with review at the end of that suspension period
