Day 16 of growing Mailient to $30k ARR 🚀 This week I tried something I thought would work Experiment - Cold emailed 200+ YC founders. Result - Almost no replies. - 0 trial activations. Honestly, it stung a bit. Mistake? - I assumed "founder" = "customer." That was lazy thinking. Just because someone is building a company doesn’t mean they care about fixing their inbox. Learning: I’m not looking for founders anymore. I’m looking for people who are actually feeling the pain Mailient solves: - Missing important emails - Constant follow ups slipping through - Actively searching for a better way to manage their inbox That’s a very different group. Move 16 No more blasting emails to random founders. I’m going to focus on people who are already frustrated and looking for a solution. Feels obvious now, but I had to learn it the hard way.
