@BoziTatarevic I’m a bit curious about the other part as well, where the spotter says to Dillon that he’s on a slightly worse set of tires. It’s pretty safe to assume they wouldn’t put qualifying scuffs on at this point, so what process is there to determine the quality of each set?

It sounds like Dillon didn't like the handling after the first pit stop and part of the reason why it felt different was that it had too much fuel.
A gallon of fuel weighs 6 pounds so being plugged in for an extra second could add 12 pounds of weight to the rear of the car.

Austin Dillon told the team got "a little bit too much fuel in it," which affected his balance. I'm not sure I've heard the "too much fuel" thing before.

@STaranto92 I was on that car. Rough day at the track. Driver claimed he didn’t know what happened. Crew chief hit the recall button on the tach and saw it was pegged. Tried to go 2nd to 3rd to catch the front group, hit 1st instead.

Goodyear has a new intermediate right-side tire that will debut in Kansas and also will be used for Vegas. It is an updated construction (not the tread but how tire is constructed) that Goodyear says will force teams to balance grip with outright speed to maximize performance.

@WookieDrives In 2017 at Watkins Glen as I was returning tires post race another tire guy was like hey some guy is trying to take your tires. Caught him, police got involved. He actually had gotten them over the fence behind pit road. Police came, he went to jail on grand larceny charges 🤣

It's amazing how aggressive these fans have gotten. 2019 Southern 500 (the one we finished at like 3:30 AM due to an incoming hurricance) we had a fan steal our jackman's jack, and security caught them at the tunnel and they acted like it was given to them...

An unruly fan tried to steal a hat from Ross Chastain as he was driving to Victory Lane and Justin Marks was leaning in the window. Ross wasn't happy about it. The individual in question has been dealt with by security

@NateDog_51 @Toby_Christie Transponders don’t transmit in real time. They only transmit the time in which they pass over each loop. They aren’t some active GPS tracking system. They need to cross a loop to work.
