For those who weren't following earlier this fall, here's incredible redemptive timeline of UNC receiver Devontez Walker. This will be one of best stories in 2024 NFL Draft: * Planned to play at E. Tennessee State out of HS but suffered ACL injury. * Sat out 2019 rehabbing and enrolled at NC Central. * NC Central cancelled 2020 season and then opted not to play Spring 2021 season like most FCS programs. * Transferred to Kent State in Fall 2021 and saw little playing time as reserve WR. * Had breakout year in 2022 for Kent State, catching 58 balls for 911 yards and 11 TD. * Kent State had coaching change after 2022 season so Walker wanted to move back to his home state or North Carolina to be closer to his ailing grandmother. * In Fall 2023, NCAA denied special eligibility waiver as multi-time transfer despite Walker's family hardship and mental health situations. * Practiced as member of UNC's scout team first 4 games of 2023 season in compliance with NCAA's ruling. * State of North Carolina politicians, including the governor, helped push NCAA to reverse their ruling first week of October. * Walker made immediate impact for UNC's offense upon his return and finished with 41 catches for 699 yards and 7 TD. * Accepted @seniorbowl invite yesterday as one of best WR prospects in 2024 #NFL Draft class. #TheDraftStartsInMOBILE™️
