There is no better way to identify the unity of religion and the symbolism of faith than the co-occurrence of Ramadan and the Lenten season.
As Christians and Muslims worldwide embark on this journey of penitence and rededication to God’s will and commandments, I pray that the sacrifices will find favour in the eyes of the Almighty.
I also encourage everyone to pray for our dear country, Nigeria, and our leaders.

I have just been informed of the demise of Otunba Francis Banwo. An astute educationist who served as my Commissioner for Education and later as Special Adviser. I am glad he made his mark while on earth and served our state diligently. I pray that God Almighty grant his family the fortitude to bear the loss.

I received the devastating news of the passing of my brother and friend, Segun Awolowo Jnr, the worthy grandson of the late sage, Chief Obafemi Awolowo with great sadness.
His death is a painful and monumental loss, not only to the distinguished family, but to many of us who shared a relationship with him, to the people of Ogun State and to the nation at large.
Segun Awolowo Jnr lived a life defined by grace, service, loyalty to family values, and an unwavering commitment to the ideals of nation-building. In every assignment he undertook, he carried the Awolowo legacy with dignity and excellence. I recall his calm intellect, refined disposition, and patriotic spirit which I believe will be sorely missed.
It is a very difficult moment for many of us who shared a common bond with Segun, and no amount of words can ease the depth of sorrow.
I pray that the Almighty God grant every member of the Awolowo family the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss and I pray for comfort and the strengthening of spirit for the family that he left behind.
On behalf of my family and the entire Ogun East Senatorial District, I stand with the family in prayers during this moment of grief and may the soul of Segun find eternal rest in the bosom of the Lord.
With deepest sympathy,
Otunba Gbenga Daniel, FNSE, CON

Happy 90th Birthday to the wonderful matriarch of Ogun East, Mrs. Victoria Olaitan Abiodun!
I deeply appreciate the engaging moments and productive discussions we’ve shared. Mama's sharp memory and warm spirit remind me so much of my own mother, especially with them sharing the name Olaitan. Mothers like her are a blessing and must be cherished.

Chief Osoba is one of the luckiest Nigerians that ever lives. His garden of roses seem to be watered from a celestial realm, and his bread always buttered by Providence; he is always there when and where things are happening whether by accident or happenstance. From a curb reporter to an editor, MD and publisher with just his pen. At 86, he is still very much around. Happy birthday to the Leader of APC in *Ogun State*.

I received the news of the passing of our highly reverred monarch, His Royal Majesty, Oba Sikiru Kayode Adetona, GCON Ogbagba II, the Awujale of with great sadness and profound sense of loss.
His death was a personal loss to me because we shared a great deal of confidence and close relationships. Kabiyesi, was not just our traditional ruler in Ìjèbú land, but a father figure to many of us. His life exemplified the true core values of what the whole of Ijebu people represent; he was the moral compass of integrity, courage and wisdom. He symbolizes the full essence of our culture and traditional values.
In his 65 years on the throne, Kabiyesi, became the symbol and identity of progress, resourcefulness and enterprise earning the sobriquet as "Orisa Ijebu", an apotheosis of a god with spiritual authority and a dispenser of prosperity.
His exit marked a significant closure of an exciting era and the reopening of a new chapter in the history of Ìjèbú and Yoruba land in general. His long reign and ripe old age filled a void in our ancestry and common history. We mourn!
I extend my heartfelt commiseration to His Excellency, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, President and Commander-in-Chief of the Nigerian Armed Forces , a personal friend and alter ego of Kabiyesi Awujale Adetona; to the Governor of Ogun State, Prince Dapo Abiodun; to the good people of Ogun State and most especially every sons and daughters of Ìjèbú land at home and in the diaspora; my condolences to the Olorituns, the Council of Otunbas and Chiefs and to the immediate families of Kabiyesi Awujale on this loss.
I am personally comforted that Kabiyesi Adetona has just transitioned into the eternal realm of immortality and spirituality where he will forever superintend over the affairs of Akile Ijebu and its prosperity.
I wish his earthly family the guidance of the Almighty as I pray for their comfort to be able to bear the pains of this spiritual accension to the world of saints.
His Excellency, The Senator Otunba Gbenga Daniel, FNSE, FNAENG,
Otunba Obalofin of Ìjèbú land,
Royal Court of the Awujale of Ijebuland.

The news of former President Muhammadu Buhari's demise comes as a shock.
The former president was a patriotic leader who loved Nigeria beyond measure. At the critical times that our country demands his interventions, he answered the clarion call.
A man of modest means and simple lifestyle.
He will be missed greatly for his dedication to make Nigeria a better place.

The celebration of Eid Mubarak is a testimony to the power of endurance, obedience and penitence. Like every tunnel of darkness, there is a light at the end.
