A lot of people feel Nigerian society is struggling because too many things reward shortcuts over honesty. People see corruption praised, hard work ignored, fake lifestyles celebrated, and accountability treated like punishment. Over time, that affects how people think, behave, and even survive. But at the same time, Nigeria is also full of hardworking, smart and resilient people trying to build something real despite the system. The society isn’t completely spoiled. it’s a mix of broken systems and people adapting to survive in them. One dangerous thing is when bad behavior starts looking “normal.” Once dishonesty, oppression or fraud become culture, good people either stay silent or feel forced to join in. That’s how societies decay slowly. Still, change usually starts from smaller circles: the kind of people we praise, the values we normalize, and the standards we refuse to lower.
