At coachella i kept seeing all these tiktokers and reality tv stars walking around with bodyguards and it made me realize i have no bodyguards . Can someone be my bodyguard? When Apollo 16 astronaut Charles Duke landed on the moon in April 1972, he brought something deeply personal with him. Along with making history, he left behind a family photo showing his wife Dorothy and their two young sons, Charles III and Thomas. It was his way of keeping a promise and taking his family to the moon with him in spirit.
Duke came up with the idea after talking with his sons while he was away training in Florida. He asked if they wanted to go to the moon with him, then had a NASA photographer take a family picture in their backyard. The photo was signed and left on the lunar surface with a note that said it was the family of astronaut Charlie Duke from planet Earth.
Years later, Duke said the gesture showed the human side of space exploration. He remembered that the photo started to curl almost right away because of the moon’s extreme heat, and he believes it has likely faded over time.
