President Mahama to host world leaders, reparatory justice experts and activists in Accra from June 17 to 19, 2026, at a high-level next steps conference following the landmark adoption of the UN resolution declaring the transatlantic enslavement as the gravest crime against humanity. A historic joint Juneteenth commemoration with our African American brothers and sisters shall be held at the Osu Christiansborg Castle on the 19th. The momentum is on our side, and nothing is stopping us from our Reparatory Justice victory!

Fifteen years ago today (1 May 2011), U.S. Navy SEALs raided a compound in Abbottabad, Pakistan and killed Usama Bin Laden. The raid marked the end of a more than 15-year effort by partners across the Intelligence Community to find Bin Ladin. Learn more: cia.gov/stories/story/…

In recognition of exceptional dedication, President Mahama has recommended automatic employment for a female national service person who played a role in recovery efforts following the Akosombo GRIDCO Substation fire incident. During a tour of the facility, President Mahama also commended the engineers whose tireless work led to the successful restoration of power. Energy Minister John Jinapor also disclosed that MTN Ghana is donating one million Ghana cedis worth of airtime and data credits as a gesture of appreciation to the engineers for their commitment and hard work in restoring electricity. #JoyNews

Iran has handed over 15 unexploded U.S. missiles and bombs, including an intact GBU-57 bunker buster, to research teams for reverse engineering.

More details about the $109 million U.S deal Ghana rejected: 1. It is reported that the deal would have required Ghana to hand over Ghanaians’ health data for 25 years, even though their aid would have lasted for only 5 years. 2. During that 25-year period, Ghana would not have been able to question how the data was being used. 3. It is also reported that part of the deal would have prevented the Ghana FDA from scrutinizing certain medicinal products from the U.S. In other words, if a product had already been registered in the U.S, the Ghana FDA would not have had to conduct further checks before it entered the Ghanaian market. 4. Beyond all this, Ghanaian officials were reportedly given just one week to sign the MOU.

@Ananda_Vegan @GeorgeAnagli Are you that dumb? Just because a country has security deal with another country doesn't mean it is bad. You didn't even state what the deal was.

As preposterous as this may sound, that’s how a nation that fails to fund critical sectors of its budget, including health, is treated by global powers. We may have rejected this deal today and lost over $100 million. But how do we fund the current budget deficit? Yes, we mustn’t “sell” our health data for a few hundred million; however, failing to address the critical questions of self-funding will cause many people who rely on these “donations” to suffer. By the way, can @GeorgeAnagli share any link where we could read more about this? Any document that could provide more insight into this deal?
