Today, January 9, 2025, I visited Kamal Group Steel factory in Cape Town. I held lengthy talks with Mr. GAGAN SANTOSH, a member of the Tanzanian Diaspora in South Africa and Chairman of the KAMAL GROUP. We discussed their investment progress so far, and I was happy to learn that they are smoothly operating without any hurdles. Mr. SANTOSH also shared some crucial insights about their commitment to continue operating in South Africa whilst expanding to other countries in the region. He informed that their Cape Town facility produces hundred thousands of tons of steel annually, which is exported to various locations around the globe, including Tanzania. My visit has reaffirmed the significance of Tanzania - South friendly relations, in promoting and strengthening the economic ties, for the mutual benefit of both Tanzanians and South Africans. It was indeed exciting to see entrepreneurs from Tanzania making significant investments abroad, whilst supporting their homeland economic growth.
