Lo que hace más interesante es cómo actúan cuándo hay niños a su alrededor, con Holly y Walter Jr, ambos actúan e intervienen de manera natural, sin incomodidad, su dinámica entre tíos se siente genuina, son tíos presentes, atentos y cariñosos, aunque la paternidad no forme parte de su vida. La serie nunca intenta definirlos a partir de su decisión o llenar vacíos para satisfacer al espectador con más subtramas, simplemente los muestra tal y como son y sin explicar elecciones personales que no siempre necesitan de una explicación.
