When witnessing an injustice, raise your voice. When called upon to serve, raise your hand. When aspiring to inspire, raise your standard. If you can do that, then you can lead. That is what public servants do - they balance advocacy, action, and the ability to be the example.

Much of the federal government’s workforce resides in Prince George’s County. Yet, however, our county does not have an equal share of federal government agencies located within our borders. This relocation decision by HUD is another example of an opportunity lost for growth.

Last night, New York City sent a resounding message that stagnation is no longer the standard and that the desires of the doubted are more than mere dreams — they are demands. As public servants, our agenda must align with the will of the people; their voices must be uplifted.

As we celebrate Juneteenth, let our history remind us all of our battles won and yet won; the trials and tribulations that accompany our standard of success; and that, while our growth comes from yesterday and hope belongs to tomorrow, our strength and resolve fuels us right now.

William Beanes Elementary is in District 25 and I had the honor of representing their students, community, and staff on the Board of Education.

We held two Class Representative elections today during Career Day at William Beanes Elementary! Being a politician requires character, charisma, and courage — three traits that I know these students have.

During my time on the Board of Education, the students, families, and staff of Longfields Elementary were always an example of what a school community should be. I am glad that they are getting the state-level recognition they deserve! #district25

A couple of facts: Taylor Swift has performed at a “world-class stadium” in DC and Beyonce has two upcoming shows at “that place in Landover”. If you do not want to travel to Prince George’s County, could you just say that instead of speaking incorrectly into a hot microphone?
