@niceguy1actual There's a lot of truth to that... The odds Ukraine can take back any meaningful territory are extremely low. They're struggling with acceptance right now, it seems.

@disclosetv This has been the holdup throughout peace talks... Russia insists it will keep occupied areas, Ukraine says it cannot. Until this impasse is broken, there will be no peace. Also... a drawn-out conflict favors Russia.

Intel CEO Faces Scrutiny over China Ties United States President Donald Trump is calling for the resignation of Intel’s CEO, Lip-Bu Tan due to alleged connections to Chinese tech companies which work with the Chinese military. He said in a social media post the CEO is “highly conflicted” and should step down. “There is no other solution to this problem, he added. “Thank you for your attention to this problem!” Reuters has reported than Tan had invested at least $200 million in Chinese tech firms, some of which have direct ties to the country’s military. These investments represent a level of control in some of those firms. Senator Tom Cotton sent a letter to Intel’s board of directors Wednesday, asking for more information. “Mr. Tan reportedly controls dozens of Chinese companies and has a stake in hundreds of Chinese advanced-manufacturing and chip firms,” he wrote. “At least eight of these companies reportedly have ties to the Chinese People’s Liberation Army.” Intel said in a statement “Intel, the Board of Directors, and Lip-Bu Tan are deeply committed to advancing U.S. national and economic security interests and are making significant investments aligned with the President's America First agenda. Intel has been manufacturing in America for 56 years. We are continuing to invest billions of dollars in domestic semiconductor R&D and manufacturing, including our new fab in Arizona that will run the most advanced manufacturing process technology in the country, and are the only company investing in leading logic process node development in the U.S. We look forward to our continued engagement with the Administration.”

China Condemns Philippine Statement, Sends Vessels Through Bashi Channel In a rare move, three Chinese Coast Guard vessels moved through the Bashi channel between Taiwan and the Philippines Friday. The ships moved through the area a day after the Philippines’ President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. drew condemnation from China after saying his country would likely come to the aid of Taiwan should it be invaded. President Marcos had also said the evacuation of Philippine citizens from Taiwan in the event of a war would be a humanitarian issue, but that it would force the Philippines to then “defend territory and sovereignty.” Citing geography, he said there would be no way to avoid involvement in the conflict. "If there’s an all-out war, then we will be drawn into it,” he added. China’s Foreign Ministry said the President is “playing with fire” and China lodged a protest from its embassy in Manila. The Foreign Ministry added “‘geographical proximity' and 'large overseas populations' are not excuses for a country to interfere in the internal affairs of others.” "We urge the Philippines to earnestly adhere to the One China Principle,” the Ministry said, “and refrain from playing with fire on issues concerning China's core interests."

New Leader in Haiti Haiti’s transitional Presidential council has a new leader, as gangs threaten to overthrow the government. The new leader, Laurent Saint Cyr, is a wealthy businessman by Haitian standards, and was sworn in at a highly-guarded location in Port-au-Prince. “Our country is going through one of the greatest crises in all its history,” Saint-Cyr said at the swearing-in ceremony. “It’s not the time for beautiful speeches. It’s time to act.” “We must restore state authority,” he added. “The challenges we face are certainly linked to insecurity, but they also are the result of our lack of courage, a lack of vision and our irresponsibility.” Shortly before the ceremony, powerful gang leader Jimmy “Barbecue” Cherizier called for a rebellion against the government in a social media video. “People of Haiti, take care of yourselves and help us … in the battle to free the country,” he said, while wearing a bulletproof vest and displaying a rifle. Gangs control about 90% of Haiti’s capitol of Port-au-Prince.

IDF to Occupy Gaza City Israel’s security cabinet approved a plan to fully occupy Gaza City Friday, after an all-night meeting. “The Security Cabinet has approved the Prime Minister's proposal for the defeat of Hamas,” a statement from the Prime Minister’s office said. “The IDF will prepare for the takeover of Gaza City while ensuring the provision of humanitarian aid to the civilian population outside the combat zones.” The statement also outlined five principles for ending the war, that the cabinet had approved: - Disarming Hamas - “Israel security control in the Gaza Strip” - Returning all the hostages, including the bodies of those who have died - The demilitarization of the Gaza Strip; and - Establishing an alternative civil administration that is neither Hamas nor the Palestinian Authority Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had told Fox News Thursday that there was not yet a detailed plan on governance, but that “we don’t want to be there as a governing body. We want to hand it over to Arab forces that will govern it properly without threatening us and giving Gazans a good life – that’s not possible with Hamas.” The United Nations Human Rights Chief Volker Turk spoke against the plan, saying "On all evidence to date, this further escalation will result in more massive forced displacement, more killing, more unbearable suffering, senseless destruction and atrocity crimes. Instead of intensifying this war, the Israeli Government should put all its efforts into saving the lives of Gaza’s civilians by allowing the full, unfettered flow of humanitarian aid. The hostages must be immediately and unconditionally released by Palestinian armed groups."

Armenia, Azerbaijan to Sign Peace Deal Leaders from Armenia and Azerbaijan will arrive at the White House Friday to sign a peace deal, ending a low-grade but long-running war. President Donald Trump posted on social media late Thursday the leaders "will join me at the White House for an official Peace Signing Ceremony.” He added that he is "very proud of these courageous Leaders for doing the right thing." The two countries had agreed to a framework deal in March, but additional details had held up the final signing. The two countries have gone to war twice over the disputed Karabakh region, which Azerbaijan captured in 2023. Peace negotiations have taken place sporadically ever since, without a final resolution until this announced signing.
