The Kebbi State Government has clarified the incident that occurred at the General Hospital, Bagudo, in the early hours of Tuesday, 30th December, 2025, stressing that it was an explosion caused by fire and not a bomb blast, as widely insinuated and reported on social media.

Today, I joined the Chairman of the Northern States Governors’ Forum and Governor of Gombe State, His Excellency Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, alongside fellow Northern Governors and our revered Traditional Rulers, for a crucial security and development meeting in Kaduna. The challenges confronting Northern Nigeria demand unity, courage, and collective responsibility. The recent security incidents across the region, including the unfortunate abductions in our own Kebbi State, remind us that we must stand together and confront these threats with renewed resolve. I commend the NSGF Chairman for his strong and timely call for action, and I appreciate President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his swift interventions toward securing our people. As leaders, we remain committed to safeguarding our communities, protecting our schools, investing in human capital, and ensuring that every child is in the classroom, not on the streets. Insha-Allah, with unity and commitment, we will restore peace, strengthen our region, and secure a prosperous future for Northern Nigeria.

He used the opportunity to call on working journalists to always project the positive image of the state in its true colour, explaining that even though there were pockets of criminal activities, Kebbi state known for its peace, tranquility and hospitality.
