Oh my God. Do I even admit what came out of my mouth at that exact moment? Because the exact sentence I let slip was:“Jesus Christ, he’s doing things to me with that voice.” And then I realized Thomas was sitting RIGHT THERE.On my couch. Close enough to hear every bad decision leave my mouth in surround sound. He looked at me. Then at the screen. Then back at me. I tried to save myself. “That’s not what I meant.” Then:“Well… it’s what I meant, just not exactly how that sounded.” A terrible defense.Weak structure. No supporting evidence. So I added:“That was metaphorical.” Thomas went: Was it?” And I said:“Yes.” He started laughing and said:“No, because now I’m interested.” Then:“He really gets to you, huh?” I said:“It’s just the concert atmosphere.” And this man looked me up and down with the most disrespectfully calm smile and said:“Sure. The atmosphere.” Then he tilted his head and asked, like this was a perfectly normal follow-up:“So if I learn Korean and say the same thing to you… same effect?” I stopped breathing. Fully. “Thomas?! Oh my God, no! We are absolutely not exploring that. We are absolutely not running that experiment.That lab is CLOSED.” He was laughing so hard by then. “What? You started this. You opened the door.” So yes.That is how I ended up getting professionally flirted with on my own couch because Min Yoongi yelled in satoori. Humiliation. Total. 😬
