A fun way to start the summer term, ‘House Line is It Anyway?’ is the annual King’s inter-house improvisation competition. The event sees competitors play a range of improvisational drama games with points being awarded for energy, imagination and quality of collaboration.

Break a leg to all the pupils involved in this year's Rushmere Production. Shakespeare Rocks! is being performed in the Collyer Hall Theatre tonight and tomorrow evening - we hope all those with tickets enjoy the wonderful show!

Dr Cotton and Mr Lougher shared warm words with pupils at the school gates on the first day back after the Easter break. It was great to have the sun shining down on the King's campus as another exciting term began!

Year 6 pupils participated in the highly anticipated Speak Up Challenge, where they presented on topics of their choice. It was an opportunity for them to show their public speaking skills and creativity. Congratulations to all participants for their outstanding efforts!

It was great to welcome all the participants to this year’s Surrey Junior Schools Rugby Festival. From U8s to U11s, pupils enjoyed two days of friendly competition. Our thanks go to the players, coaches and supporters from all the participating schools.

Junior school pupils and staff celebrated World Book Day with a lively assembly and costume parade, showcasing their favorite literary characters. Mr. Lougher had a hard time picking the best outfits. The festivities inspired creativity throughout the day.

Congratulations to our rowers who competed in the Hammersmith Head! Our J16 XIII won their category against tough competition. Other highlights include a close second for our 1st XIII in the J18 Championship VIIIs and a top 10 finish for our J18 2nd VIII.

Congratulations to Stuart House who won this year's House Music competition with their rendition of "A Thousand Years" by Christina Perri. Well done to everyone who took part in this year's event, which was a great success!

The Voice and Piano Recital was a fantastic showcase for our talented pianists and singers. With a diverse programme featuring pieces from Rachmaninov to Ravel, and Schubert to Sondheim, the audience enjoyed vocal duets, piano duets, and solos.

We were thrilled to welcome to King's, author Josh Lacey. He gave a brilliant talk to our Junior School pupils who were fascinated by his insights into the adventures of ‘The Time Travel Twins,’ a series that explores historical events through the eyes of a pair of two twins.

This week, Junior School pupils engaged in workshops conducted by Jess Wall from the Chimp Management Company. These sessions were designed to help them understand the neuroscience of the brain, thereby enhancing the pupils’ awareness of their reactions.

Over the past six weeks 15 junior school prefects have been participating in the Emerging Leaders Programme. Involving pupils from partner schools across Europe and Asia, the programme featured discussions, guest speaker sessions, and collaborative explorations of leadership.

Third Form engaged in some fun activities as part of the weekly Science Club. They demonstrated exceptional creativity while designing balloon-powered cars using cardboard, straws, wooden skewers, and balloons. Next week their cars will hit the track for a thrilling test drive!

The Rushmere Soloists’ Recital had an excellent turnout this week and featured calming piano solos, original compositions and impressive dynamics. Congratulations to all 17 performers!
