🌟 A new exhibition is opening at the Central Library this week, and you're invited! Stop by on Wednesday, May 6, starting at 5 p.m. for 'Calls From Home: Artistic Responses on Unsettled Ground.' The show features both traditional and experimental art, exploring themes like nature, identity, memory, and community. UMKC students in an upper-level museum studies class curated, organized, and installed the exhibition with support from Izabel Galliera, associate professor of Art History, and Craig Auge, the Library’s exhibitions coordinator, and it runs through June 14. There are only a few more days to visit 'We Hold These Truths,' an exhibition by Kansas City poet and visual artist José Faus at the Central Library. We are thrilled to welcome back a pallet of books that ended up in the Cayman Islands by mistake in December. 😲🏝️ The pallet spent a few weeks in the sun and sand, then stayed in Atlanta for a couple of months, missing the Midwest winter. After a quick stop in Nashville for spring break, the pallet finally made it back to Kansas City, and we’re happy to have it home. 📚
