Yesterday, the Library was honored to host a naturalization ceremony where 57 people from 20 countries became U.S. citizens. We were reminded that we are all still growing and dreaming. Assistant Library Director Pritha Hariharan welcomed the new citizens to the community and reminded us what libraries are all about. "We are truly honored to host this important and joyful ceremony today, and we are grateful to be part of such a meaningful moment in your lives. The public Library is - and will always be - a free, open, and inclusive space for everyone. It belongs to all of us, no matter where we come from, what language we speak, or how long we’ve called this country home. Libraries exist to serve the public, to strengthen communities, and to ensure that access to knowledge and opportunity is never limited." A new parking validation process is coming to the Central Library on March 2. 🚨 No more tickets - everything can be done on your smartphone! Parking rates will remain the same. Visit kclibrary.org/locations/cent… to learn how to sign up for Metropolis Parking. You can also speak with Library staff for help. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation during this change. This new process will result in a smoother, faster parking experience for patrons. 🚗
