There's a common misconception that the earth's seasonal changes are caused by the distance from the sun. However, that idea is untrue. Rather it is the tilt of the earth in relation to the sun's thermal energy that gives us the seasons. #apesair @franklinlorax

@sophie_garman @franklinlorax Such a great example of alternative energy sources! There are many pros and cons to using photovoltaic sources, such as the emission-free process. However, the process is also very expensive and heavily dependent on nature.

I use a lot of energy by turning on my fan at night, so I do my best to make up for it by keeping my light off during the day. #apesenergy @franklinlorax

@EZ507743apes @franklinlorax That's a very smart move! In order to be sustainable, we have to consider not only the environmental impacts but also the economic impacts of creating that electricity.

Cars need gasoline as fuel in order to operate, which is one of the many products created from crude oil. Crude oil is a fossil fuel that turns into many useful materials, such as Naptha which is used to make plastics, medicines, and synthetic products. @franklinlorax #apesenergy

I live in a house which is an example of low density housing since there is a small number of units. This is different to an apartment or townhouse which is are examples of high density housing since they have a large number of units. #apesland @franklinlorax

@SG507616apes @franklinlorax What a great example of how urbanization can impact our lives and the lives of those around us. It's amazing to see how much we, as humans, can impact the environment we live in.

these are trees i have in my yard that provide natural habitat for animals and release oxygen into the air. it is important that if my family ever wanted to cut the trees down we make sure to replace them with new trees to keep our environment sustainable #apesland @franklinlorax

@JayceeNirschl @franklinlorax Great thinking Jaycee! It's always important to be mindful of the three aspects of sustainability when considering our choices that will ultimately affect the environment.

When deciding to start cultivating different plants, such as flowers, crops, or even grass, we must be aware of what we include in the soil and how much. Some nutrients, like fertilizer, can be good, but they can also ruin your plants if used incorrectly. @franklinlorax #apesland

COVID-19 has caused over 2.24 million deaths worldwide, causing an overall decrease in the human population. This is why it is important to wear a mask in order to limit exposure to the virus. #apespop @franklinlorax

@SG507616apes @franklinlorax Very alarming and extremely topical Shubhreet. I enjoyed how you used modern issues and related them back to the things we've learned in the classroom.

As Americans, we use an average amount of around 430 gallons of gasoline per person. The highest amount compared to any other region of the world. To reduce my environmental footprint, I vow to use more public transport and carpool wherever possible #apespop @franklinlorax

My friends and I are k-strategists. We have higher parental care and protection over our offspring. We also have fever offspring with a higher survival rate. #apeseco @franklinlorax

the forests around franklin are a perfect example of the temperature seasonal/deciduous forest biome, where we can observe distinct seasonal changes as seen here. this biome is especially notable because it’s where we humans live! @franklinlorax #apeseco

As omnivores, humans are usually considered Tertiary or Secondary Consumers when referencing the Energy Pyramid. Remember that as we move through, from producers to consumers, about 90% of that energy from the previous level is lost or not transferred. #apeseco @franklinlorax

One way that we can help be healthy and safe for the environment is by using reusable water bottles rather than plastic ones that end up in our garbage patches! #APESwater @franklinlorax
