@alicekeeler I'm sure she did great; I would have told the teacher the truth. Kiddos need to be held accountable for their behavior. We have all had those days but we still get up every day and do it again until we get it right. Hugs to your daughter from a 26 yr "seasoned" teacher.

My daughter had her first day substitute teaching yesterday (2nd grade). She felt like a failure and was stressed about what to leave in the note. What advice do you have for the note at the end of the day?
(By the way, she did not fail, she did a great job. Impostor syndrome is real... and your first time doing anything is a learning curve! Any tips she would greatly appreciate).

When a substitute teacher leaves a good note about my students, I always read it to them to reinforce that good behavior. And whenever you see a substitute in your school, thank them for being there and let them know you’re willing to help if they need anything.
