“I wonder how he would feel if he knocked and stared down the barrel of a shotgun.” Some residents—even from Lake Tapawingo—have tried downplay the situation that happened earlier today by saying, “If you have nothing to hide, why worry about the cops being called?” You just don’t get it. When people call the cops over things that aren’t actual emergencies, people get hurt. 🚑 Case in point: a cop from Lee Summit left this thread under the very video I posted about what happened in Lake Tapawingo—these could be the people that show up. This is what we deal with, this is why we take this seriously. People could get hurt—and this is why we film you playing with fire. 🔥

THIS is why we film you playing with fire—because you could call the cops and someone who looks at Black people this way could very well show up.

After reading through the 33-page term sheet for the Chiefs' new stadium in Kansas, I think it's one of the most lopsided stadium deals in NFL history. Kansas is essentially giving the Chiefs $3 billion (stadium funding + mixed-use development funding + tax incentives), yet getting virtually nothing in return. The Chiefs get to keep 100% of the revenue from all stadium activities, including ticket sales, concessions, sponsorships, naming rights deals, personal seat licenses, and more. That applies to NFL games and all other events (concerts, basketball games, etc.). Kansas will own the stadium, with the Chiefs paying $7 million in rent annually. But that money doesn't go back to the state; it goes into an account the Chiefs can use for renovations, repairs, and operational expenses. That means the Chiefs can use their own rent money to hire stadium security, parking staff, and concession vendors throughout the season. I know Kansas had to offer a great deal to get the Chiefs to leave Arrowhead, but this is worse than I expected. Here's a full breakdown of everything I found in the term sheet: huddleup.substack.com/p/the-kansas-c…

Went to Arrowhead for the first time this year and I couldn’t help but think how much better it would been to be inside a lifeless trillion dollar artificial spaceship that’s more apt for large concerts and events

Difference is both stadiums were filled in by teams that had no connection to the area. The Chiefs are literally moving 28 miles away. You think fans will just stop showing up?

@MarkAGunnels Does sofi have an atmosphere? How bout Vegas? There’s multiple examples on how bad this is for a franchise.

I’m fine with owners doing whatever they want to make more money. That’s how they’re all wired regardless of how much they/their families are worth. I can hate that it’s always about money but it’s reality. Just be honest. Don’t lie and try to placate the fans with platitudes.

“What makes Chiefs gamedays so special is you. Seats don't make noise, concrete doesn't intimidate opponents, parking lots don't cook barbecue. You do.” - Chiefs They also put this in bold: “Every step of the way, he (Lamar) prioritized the fans.”
Sports Business Journal@SBJ

Chiefs President Mark Donovan says the team’s planned domed stadium in Kansas will seat at least 65K, about 10K fewer than Arrowhead Stadium. Owner Clark Hunt says the move allows the team to increase luxury suites and amenities to help boost revenue. ow.ly/VGoW50XNFxm

Somehow over the course of the last 24 hours, present day Arrowhead has been painted as a cheap fun for the whole family and now with it moving to big bad Kansas, it's exclusively going to be for rich Johnson County elites.
