@macintoshmaggie Just to be clear, they had cancelled provincial exams, not *all* exams.

Let's clear up the most blatantly wrong thing @ABDanielleSmith has claimed so far:
That puberty blockers are irreversible and therefore can permanently alter a youth's body for life
They don't.

@PublicEdMB In the past, capping class sizes at 20 for K-3 often resulted in larger classes in grades 4-8 (especially 4-6). Smaller class sizes are needed across the board, especially as we embrace inclusive education.
English

We welcome smaller class sizes, but are puzzled about why the province is not capping class sizes through policy and legislation. Requiring school divisions to report class sizes does not seem like the most effective way of actually lowering class sizes.

@nathanmwinnipeg @docwalker88 @nello4transcona @mbteachers I hope we will work to ensure that smaller class sizes in k-3 don’t result in larger class sizes in grades 4+ (esp. grades 4-8).

1 in 8 people in Winnipeg live in poverty. Minimum wage in Manitoba will soon be $15.30, which is still a WHOPPING $3.34/hr below a living wage, or $6947 short a year. Meaning people working full time will still be living in poverty but, hey, no PST at restaurants. - cont #mbpoli

Hey Manitoba HS English teachers... anyone have a list of the past themes for the ol' provincial. I can't seem to find mine, and I kind of want to be able to let students know what kinds of things they might see... #mbedchat

Removing the PST from trees & flowers to “green” communities? What? Also, let’s consider who spends significant $$ on flowers and trees. Hint: it’s not lower income folks with small or nonexistent yards. #MbPoli winnipeg.ctvnews.ca/manitoba-torie…

Did you know mining is allowed in many Manitoba provincial parks?
Other provinces are phasing out park mining, but Manitoba is approving (and funding) even more. With the race for critical minerals heating up, parks may be at risk. #mbpoli @WinnipegNews

If a road test isn’t necessary upon completion of Driver Z now, why was it ever necessary?
A better strategy might just be to negotiate a fair deal for employees to end the strike!

So… according to PP, we should “stick to teaching math, reading, and writing.” Ok. Cool. So, @PierrePoilievre, shall we cancel science and social studies? How about sports? Stop intervening when kids are bullied? 1/? cbc.ca/news/politics/…
