@Aquariuskuntt1 So, MJ was thinking of a jazzy, Human Nature w/some scatting?! Of course he was. Would it work? Of course it would. 🔥🎶🎤🤩

That is such a desperate goalpost move.
The post says Michael Jackson just surpassed Bad Bunny in monthly listeners 17 years after his death, and your response is, “but can he dethrone Drake?” Girl, the fact that you even have to compare a deceased 80s icon to the current streaming-era king proves the point.
Drake is alive, active, playlisted, constantly releasing, constantly featured, and built inside the modern streaming machine. Michael Jackson has no new interviews, no features, no social media antics, no weekly drops, no algorithm-chasing rollout, and no living promo cycle. Yet he is sitting at 101 million monthly listeners and passing current global giants from beyond the grave.
That is not a loss. That is absurd dominance.
Also, not being No.1 on Spotify does not erase the fact that Michael is competing with artists whose careers were literally built for Spotify. His prime happened before streaming, before TikTok, before playlists, before monthly listener farming, before deluxe albums with 36 tracks, and before every rapper needed 12 features a month to breathe.
So “can he dethrone Drake?” is not the drag you think it is.
The real question is: why is a man who died in 2009 even close enough for you to be moving the goalpost to Drake in the first place?

@captapplehead I often say: I know Jackie was glad when his brothers finally started growing taller. Jackie looked so mature from day one, and towered over Michael and Marlon. He was a man! 🔥🥰🔥
English

@mjsblunt @thrillermvj Strong enough to hang by his hands from the cranes that lifted & swung him out over his audiences. No safety straps or support stand. Remember MJ pulling a fan up w/him when the fan charged the stage and jumped onto the crane. Michael pulled him up and never stopped singing.
English

@thrillermvj he was an athlete all things considered and strong as fuck his stature is something to be studied fr

@Aquariuskuntt1 @LiberianGirl779 This sound, Michael singing, the melody ALL need to be in the soundtrack of a movie! What tender and intense sentiment. 🥰🔥
English

I’m sorry, but Jackie’s part will forever kill me 🤣 He’s the funniest man 😭

@ThomasConnorsJr Michael gets very frisky w/his microphone stand on Dirty Diana in front of HRH Princess Diana. We see you, MJ! 🤭😁
English

@ThomasConnorsJr Interesting Michael chose to have four singers/dancers on stage w/him for his first solo tour. Still, I’m sure he was ready to tour as Michael Jackson. This 1988 London show was him at 30 years old—25 years AFTER beginning to perform w/his brothers!! 🤯 King of Pop! 👑🎶🥰
English

#MichaelJackson didn't have a solo Tour until "Bad" as the #MichaelMovie covered, on July 16, 1988, at Wembley Stadium in Wembley, London, Michael performed to a sold-out crowd of 72,000, which included Diana, Princess of Wales and Charles, Prince of Wales. HERE IS PART 1

@moonwalker4077 Look at this James Brown, Fred Astaire, Mills Bro, Sammy Davis Jr, Bob Fosse, Gene Kelly dancing man. And can sing. What an entertainer was Michael Jackson!?! And this is just the surface of what he would do in terms of creativity. RiP, King of Pop. 👑
English

On this date in 1983, NBC aired Motown 25 taped on March 25 at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium in California, Where Michael Jackson reunited with his brothers including Jermaine for a medley of Motown hits.
MJ then performed his first solo number of “Billie Jean" During the performance, he debuted the iconic moonwalk publicly The move he had practiced privately instantly became legendary.
The special drew an estimated 47-52 million viewers. Michael's performance earned him an Emmy nomination and calls from childhood idols Fred Astaire who praised him and Sammy Davis Jr. who later received the jacket as a gift. This moment is widely regarded as a defining career pinnacle that solidified his status as the King of Pop.

@Kaylovemjj @LiberianGirl779 That’s the brilliance of Burt Bacharach making music for Dionne Warwick. He wrote so much for Lady Dionne and she sang them all so well. Perfect collab!
English

@SunshineMJ5 Jermaine had that old soul man voice in his early teens. And I’ll add what a good-looking family and family of brothers.

@offtheidea @LiberianGirl779 Qualified: Jennifer Hudson, Celine Dion (although she’s cut out in this clip), and Usher (gets a pass cuz he was emotional.
Today, I’d add Kelly Clarkson and Fantasia (this is her sound, imo).

No one knows how hard it is to sing a Michael Jackson song until you try it 😂
