I had a productive visit to Lee County Community Hospital to hear from leadership about what it’s meant for the community since the hospital reopened. I was proud to work with the community to reopen the hospital and we talked about how to protect it—and others—from Medicaid cuts.

The choice before Virginians is clear: do you want results or do you want extremism?

Thanks to the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, more infrastructure projects are getting funded. Today, I celebrated federal funding to create a pedestrian and bicycle path in downtown Harrisonburg that will improve safety & make it easier for residents to get where they need to go.

Last night, I spoke on the Senate floor to highlight the remarkable careers of the American servicemembers whose lives have been put on hold because of the Republican blockade of military promotions. This reckless stunt punishes military families and harms our military readiness.

This morning, Sen. Kaine visited a child care center in Richmond to hear about challenges, including staffing shortages. He'll keep pushing to pass his bill that would lower child care costs for families and raise wages for child care educators.

Sen. Kaine filed an amendment to remove a provision in the debt ceiling deal that would greenlight the Mountain Valley Pipeline in VA, bypassing the review process other energy projects go through.

Sen. Kaine visited a child care center at @nas_oceana and spoke with parents & workers about issues they’re facing like long wait lists. He was proud to secure funding to help design a new child care center at the base. He’ll continue working to expand access to child care.

Today, Sen. Kaine had a powerful conversation with the Sudanese American community in Richmond to discuss the conflict in Sudan. He’ll continue to be in close contact with the Administration about how to support refugees and calls on both sides to end the violence.

Today, Kaine visited Ruby Salts Oyster Co. in Cape Charles to celebrate federal funding they received to expand their business. He also heard from local growers about issues they're facing. He'll keep working to ensure they have the support they need.
