Why CJI Surya Kant’s cockroach comment is correct A Chief Justice calls unemployable youth “cockroaches.” A Norwegian reporter grandstands at Modi. But beneath the outrage lies a darker truth: India’s news ecosystem is collapsing into performance, opinion and unaccountable noise. In the age of viral influencers and free content, the line between journalist and parasite is disappearing, and so is the truth. #cockroachjantaparty #chiefjusticeofindia Watch the latest episode of Context with KD on YouTube. @KDscribe youtu.be/fEPtNUcTjkE

Assam shines at the global diplomatic arena. During his visit to Italy, Adarniya @narendramodi ji gifted an Eri Silk stole to Hon'ble Prime Minister of Italy, H.E Girogia Meloni. The Eri silk, also known as peace silk, unique to Assam, is obtained in cruelty free manner and represents the State's finest weaving traditions. Hon'ble Prime Minister also gifted a sample of Joha rice to Dr. Qu Dongyu, the DG of @FAO, which is a small grain scented rice variety unique to Assam and has a rich aroma. These gifts not only reflect Adarniya Pradhan Mantri Ji's love towards Assam and taking its heritage forward but also the rising influence of Assam in the world stage.

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma is increasingly being seen as one of the BJP’s most prominent national faces after Narendra Modi and Amit Shah. Despite coming from a smaller state with just 14 Lok Sabha seats, Himanta’s aggressive political style and strong presence in national discourse have drawn comparisons with leaders like Devendra Fadnavis and Yogi Adityanath. Known for his outspoken remarks and hardline image, Himanta says people appreciate leaders who are bold and direct. #HimantaBiswaSarma #BJP #NarendraModi #AmitShah #YogiAdityanath #DevendraFadnavis #InidaTodaySocial @KDscribe

youtu.be/gMNEkCfGcDE?si… Some politicians win elections. Himanta Biswa Sarma appears to bend elections to his will. 82 seats out of 90. A 91% strike rate. Twenty-five years in electoral politics without a single defeat. But the real story is not just how Himanta wins. The real story is what he has become. Is he Assam’s most effective chief minister? The BJP’s sharpest political weapon? A superhuman workaholic? A master of polarisation? Or all of these rolled into one restless, ruthless political machine? In this episode of Context with KD, Kaushik Deka takes you inside the making of Himanta Biswa Sarma: the boy of the Assam agitation, the strategist who powered both Congress and BJP victories, the chief minister who clears files past midnight, the campaigner who can stand on a moving jeep for 14 hours, and the politician who knows exactly when to turn a controversy into a weapon. From the dead paper mills that became a ₹27,000 crore semiconductor bet, to his ability to read voters by their eyes, to his controversial language, Muslim politics, beef narratives and BJP loyalty, this is the story behind one of India’s most effective, feared and polarising leaders. Love him or hate him, ignore him at your own risk. Watch till the end. Because Himanta Biswa Sarma is no longer just Assam’s story. He may be a preview of the BJP’s next phase. A must watch ! Different characters are shaping the different states of our country... @KDscribe says it's. Preview for the future @IndiaToday

The consequence of the perception that Congress is a Muslim party: in the five states, (not UTs) with the highest share of Muslims—Assam, West Bengal, Kerala, Uttar Pradesh and Bihar—BJP is in power in four, while Congress governs only one. In four of them, Congress has become marginal. Going by what happened in Assam, West Bengal and Tripura, one never knows when Kerala may turn too.

I usually don’t reveal off-record conversations, but this one is public now. After much prodding, @himantabiswa told me the BJP would win between 88 and 100+. I admit, I found that range a bit odd. On West Bengal, he had said it could be 190+. This is the man who predicted the AAP government in 2013 when nobody else did. Except for the 2024 Jorhat Lok Sabha election, his predictions have always been bang on.

When polls closed in Assam on 9th April, I jot down my thoughts on a piece of paper, like I usually do, on the possible outcome of the #AssamElectionResults2026. A month later, we've done one seat better than the best in a historic blessing by the people. Truly humbled 🙏
