@azulaservant I think the comics did her disservice by doing that. At first I thought it was a good idea but seeing how they handle everything else it just doesn't feel like characterization and rather them just butchering what they established for her in the cartoon.

@azulaservant really terrible to do. If she had been neglectful to both of her children and had been characterized as an overall distant mother I would not blame her at all. I mean ditch them as in choose to forget them to go with a guy she hadn't seen in years.

I think Azula redemption arc feels much cooler than a zuko redemption arc to me bc she does not behave how ppl think victims need to behave/have low empathy so ppl assume this means she is inherently evil She does not behave like a character who would have a redemption+
